My appointment was at 8.00am and we arrived at the embassy at 7.15am. After queing for 10 minutes, our paperwork was checked, my fiance was on the list and we got moved to a second queue. After about another 10 minutes we went through security and that's when I had to run to Gould's pharmacy to check my car keys in! Didn't think they were electronic, but something to do with the chip?
We walked round the side of the building and got our number from reception, I-904. We then sat down and waited 30 minutes until we were called up to window 1. We had the hard-to understand chinese woman. I could just understand what she was saying, but my fiance couldn't. She started saying my photos were not good enough, the background wasn't white, the picture was blurred and the paper quality was rubbish. She asked where I had them printed and I said a professional photo shop and she said 'don't go to some happy-snappy shop' I told her what I paid for them, so she then said 'well I don'... read complete review

My appointment was for 31 July 9:00.
I rushed out of work at 5:30pm (Leeds) rushed home, quick change grabbed my bags, booked a taxi to Leeds station, managed to get an earlier train and was in Kings Cross by about 9 pm, taxi marshall got me in a taxi straight away to the Lincoln Hotel, (which was small but wonderful and close to embassy)I was in my room about 9:15pm couldn't believe how well it went. Fiance called me to wish me luck etc.
I got an early call for 5:30 am, got ready, had a quick breakfast. The hotel kept my bags.
Went outside got a cab, straight to embassy for around 7:15, joined a small queue after showing my documents to two girls in a tent, then a man asked to see your documents again whilst in the queue, It was passport and interview letter.
Then joined a small queue to go into a security room (this is before you get in the embassy) went through security, came outside again and around the building into the embassy (some a... read complete review

Had an 0800 appointment at London Embassy today. Met a fellow VJer in the line outside at 0730 and there were already 5 or so people ahead of us. Through security, into the building via side entrance, up to reception where they give you your I-Number (I was I-905).
For every one Immigrant number they called, they called about fifty nonimmigrant numbers! But eventually got up to Booth 1 where i had the famous (infamous?!) asian lady who is hard to understand! She took all my documents. I remembered that when I emailed the embassy to change my fiance's address a few weeks ago, they told me to change it on the forms on the day also. So the lady gave back some of my DS forms and asked me to make the changes and sign them. I only handed over the I-134 completed by my co-sponsor (fiance's dad). She asked if my fiance was a student and I said yes. I asked if she needed proof of that or his i-134 and she said no. She quickly looked at all the financial evidence i'd made my fian... read complete review

Wow! I can't believe I've got to this stage already. I'm going to go through little details that I wasn't aware of so hopefully gives you a fuller picture.
Preparation
After reading on here that people were asked for photos and about photos, I made a last minute decision to print off extra photos I had not included in my initial application. I also did some last minute photocopying and thanks to the wonderful Raddison Hotel for doing that for me at 11pm the night before!
I made the decision to stay at a hotel the night before which made everything so much less pressured.
Interview Day
Got out of the hotel for 7am and headed to the Embassy, not knowing what to expect.
As I approached the Square, I saw the queue which already had about 30 people in! To be clear, the queue is not going into the building as I envisioned but there is a small desk on the pavement outside the Embassy. You work your way down towards it,... read complete review

So, we spent a lot of time reading these forums and reviews for what to expect in the interview, and our experience was pretty much in line with what other people wrote about.
There was one pretty big difference though that I haven't heard too much of in London - the interviewer asked my guy for pictures of us. Luckily, we came prepared with a binder of itineraries from all the times we've met and had about 15 or so pictures of us. The interviewer then spent time actually looking at the pictures, asking him to point me out in the pictures, where we were, who other people were in some of the pictures, etc. This was obviously no problem to explain, but definitely unexpected considering all the other reviews of people saying that they don't ask for evidence of that sort of thing.
Other than that, here's what happened: he got there super early, about 10 people in line, was the first "I" number of maybe about 7. When he first went up, he got the Chinese woman ... read complete review
