So I arrived at Grosvenor Square at about 8am and there was a big queue outside the building. I couldn't see any other way of getting in or any other queues so I just assumed I had to join this one. So I did and I was listening to the conversations of other people in the queue, some guys behind me were there for a Visa Waiver and they did nothing but complain about how they had to wait in a queue and how it was really unorganised- even though it wasn't. Some woman in uniform came down the queue asking to see specific things- she asked the guy infront of me for form DS-160, but when she came to me she glanced at my invitation envelope and only wanted to see the date and time on it to make sure I had the right day. "Yep today is the 24th, that's all ok then". You have to put your metal stuff in a plastic bag before you go in, men were taking off their belts and stuff. Before you go through security, you have to show your passport and invitation letter to a security guard and then he'll d... read complete review

As my fiance was in the UK at the time of my interview on 18 June, I requested permission for him to attend with me. That was granted and he was allowed with me at each stage of the process.
We got to the Embassy at about 7:25 (my interview was at 8am) and there was a queue of about 10 people. However, it became apparent that these were all N visas and we were the first I visa applicants. We had left all our electronics at home, so we only had to remove belts and watches for the scanners.
We were seen quite quickly for all my paperwork. I had brought too much but I needed to feel confident. As my fiance owns the business, we were unable to orovide an employer's letter (it would be him signing it!). But they were happy with last year's tax transcript and the last 6 payslips.
Slightly sticky question about my name - I have been married before and reverted to my maiden name on my divorce. He asked whther I had done that by deed poll. I ... read complete review

Checked my phone at Gould's (three people in front, half a dozen behind. Talk about a racket), and strolled on to Grosvenor Square. There is a small obvious queue between two box shape outbuildings. At the end of which a greeter in a blue hi-vis asks to see your letter. I arrived at 7:30am, and there were already half a dozen people in front, but the line moved briskly, I could only see the queue becoming tedious with more than say thirty people in front.
You're directed toward a guard who hands you a clear bag in which you put any small belongings, and all metals (which for me meant holding my trousers up, as my belt was in said bag). The guard forwards you to the outbuilding to the right. You go through to where there are more guards and an airport style goods/body scanner (though not those godawful shower cubicle scanner things in U.S airports.)
You're then urged on inside the perimeter through yet another substantial door (I'm not a small guy. They're... read complete review

Very smooth! Jamie's interview was for 9am. We got there at 6:30am and were the first in line so get there early! The lady who interview my husband her name was Irene and she was so nice. She just asked how we met, and how things developed. She looked at our photos after and he was approved! Its good to bring a wedding album. She looked thru all our photos and loved them! we chatted and laughed. Very relaxed interview. We were in and out within an hour. Just have faith in God, and The Lord Jesus Christ will work it out for you. Pray and trust in Him and you will be fine!!!!
