Arrived for 9:00am interview at 08:30, there was already a large queue of approx 70-80 people. There were 2 very friendly information workers who explained that there were 2 lines, the second was for those people who had their basic documents to allow entry checked. The wait to get in was about 1 hour. Then i was issued with a number, and entered the waiting room. Had about a 90 minute wait until my number was called. I was called to desk number 1, and was 'greeted' by a very rude and abrupt lady of East Asian origin, who did not once make eye contact with me throughout the next steps, which actually made me quite anxious.
I mention her ethnicity in appearance, because I have since read other people's experience at the embassy, and it seems that this woman makes a regular appearance in people's complaints about the process. So I would like to prepare anyone, if they get counter/desk 1, and she is there, they should expect less than a warm reception!

Interview date was 13th January at 9am
Arrived at Embassy at 7.15 am and found Goulds Chemist where i dropped off my phone and keys and charger for a charge of £3
Went back to Embassy where a small queue had started to form, I was 7th in line. 3 young girls came out and were very friendly and helpful, ticking us off on a sheet and making sure we had the correct documents to hand. The also directed people to Gould's, and it was at this point that a guy in the queue stated that he had seen reports on line accusing Gould's of identity theft and wiping peoples phones. So the girls said they would report it and it would be investigated. They stopped directing people there.
Once we were ticked off on the appt sheet they asked us to move to the next line adjacent. Then a security guard asked to us, one by one to step forward and he checked our passports, Interview Letters and DS-160 confirmation page, then asked us to step inside the entry where they scan you, again one ... read complete review

My k1 got approved in London today and this thread was a great help!
My experience was much like everyone else on here I was nervous but the people and the windows were so nice!
Just to let people know who were worrying like me I had a visa denial on a 214(b) for a h2b work visa and I had also overstayed by 4 days.
Everything was fine and the interview was definitely more of a relaxed chat than an interview. I got asked, how we met? And if I met her parents? That was it.
Good luck to everyone and thanks to this website!!

My fiance had his interview in London, Dec. 13, 2013. When he got there, the only papers they asked for were his birth certificate, his passport, and his support papers. He waited about an hour before he was called in for his interview. They asked him "When did we meet?", "How many times have we seen eachother since getting engaged?", and "WHy he was denied a B2 visa?". He explained about the visa being denied and so forth and talked about us for a bit. The guy then said, "I'm going to approve your visa."
It was quick and easy he said which is what we wanted. Any genuine couple should have no problems. We can't wait to start our life together in the USA. Best of Luck to everyone else going through this process. Visa Journey has been a BIG help!!!!!!! ONE LOVE

About 40 people in the queue when I arrived at 8.30am today. My appointment was for 9.00am. Checked in first, showing the appointment letter. We were told the interview process was taking about two hours.
Then back to the queue to go through security. We were called through four at a time and I had to show my DS-160 confirmation to the security guard, before we went into the security building.
Go through security, just like at the airport, jacket, hat, loose change and watch in a tray and through the x-ray machine. Leaving the security building turn right and go around outside the building to the 'visa' entrance, up the steps through the doors to the reception desk. Show the appointment letter, passport and DS-160. You are given a number and barcodes which are attached to the appt. letter.
Go to the left, up more stairs and into the waiting room. There are big video screens which flash up the appt. numbers. There is a beep and the numbers, along with a window num... read complete review
