Review Topic: K1 Visa

I got to the embassy about an hour before my interview time. I queued up and showed my appointment letter and passport to a nice english lady who ticked my name off a list she had. I then went through security (pretty much just like at an airport) and then around the building and up some stairs. At the reception I showed my DS-160 and passport and was given a number starting with 'I' (for immigrant visa).
Then I waited in a big waiting room with lots of blue fold out chairs. There was a big screen at the front of the room telling which numbers should go where so I watched that the whole time as I didnt want to miss my number!I waited about and hour and a half until I was called up. A nice American woman asked for all my documents and photocopies of documents I wanted returned. She also got me to write my name on the back of the two passport photos as I'd forgotten to do that. She took my finger prints as well. Then she handed me my chest x ray and told me I had to enter the USA before the 6th June. She chatted with me a bit about where I met my fiance and if I've been to visit him. Made me a lot more relaxed!
I then went and sat down in the waiting area again for about an hour until being called up again. This time to a nice American man maybe in his 30's. He took my finger prints and made me raise my right hand to swear I was telling the truth. He gave me back all my documents and then went to get my file. He then just chatted away in a friendly way about where we met, plans for the wedding, how often we'd seen each other, if I'd met his family. The we talked a bit about travelling and he talked about where he'd been in Europe. So was very friendly and relaxed and didn't feel interrogated or anything like that. then he said all my documents were in order and he was approving my visa! he then went over AoS with me and told me what to expect at port of entry. He gave me a leaflet about what to do when I get to the USA.
Then he said enjoy Massachusetts and to expect my visa in the next 7 working days.
So all in all a very pleasant experience and was in the embassy about 2.5 hours. The waiting was definitely the worst part!
