Visa interview for K-1 visa - 8am appointment

I arrived at 7:30am, there were about 30-40 people outside. Two lines, one 8am, other 8:30am and after. I got into the embassy by 7:50am, and my number was I905, they started at I901, so I presumed I was the fifth in line!

Questions that were asked:

- So tell me how you met?
- When did you meet in person?
- How did the relationship progress?
- And what does he do for work?

Interview was with a lady, she was friendly. All answered honestly with relatively short answers, I stumbled over my words a little at the start, but I think that's to be expected!

The whole process is relatively straight forward, and like many have said it's just a formality to confirm information/dates they already have. I was nervous but that was mainly due to the waiting! A whole 2hrs of waiting after the document check aspect of the interview. I thought something wa... read complete review

Here is my experience with London.

My appointment was at 9:00am, I thought that I would go early to get out early, So I arrived at the embassy 07:30am and waited in line, They asked everyone to take out their passport, DS-160 and interview letter, Then we went through security (4 people at a time) Then go round the building to reception where they would stick a number on your interview letter and tell you to take a seat, I was I902, I was a nervous wreck and was sweating like crazy, I could feel the sweat dripping down my neck and chest,They began calling us at 08:00am I was waiting for 5 minutes and got called to window 14, Where i was greeted by a guy called Michael, he was very pleasant and nice, He said that my photo was blurry and that I should go and take another one at the booth and he would wait for me (Photos was £7) I did it and he told me to take a seat and wait.

Then after about 45 minutes I got called to window 15, I was greeted by a man, He ... read complete review

So my interview was at 08:00 on Thursday November 6th.

I stayed overnight as I was unable to get a train early enough to arrive in time. I woke up at 06:00 and left the hotel by 07:00; it was a 20 minute walk to the embassy. I think the street my hotel was on was called Sussex Gardens (near Hyde park) and there were hundreds of small hotels on that stretch of road. My hotel also agreed to keep my bag, so I didn't have to pay the pharmacy for the privilege.

I set off at 07:00 arrived at around 07:20 - there was already a small queue of 20 or so people. I decided to just join the back and checked my emails etc.

At around 07:40 a group of 3 or so ladies brought out some standing signs and advised that the line split in to 2 separate lines: the line on the left was for people with appointments after 08:00 and on the right for those with appointments at 08:00. This was done outside the embassy.

Then, the same group of ladies star... read complete review

Posted on Visa Journey on November 6th.

My husband Steve had his interview on Monday, November 3rd at 9am in London. I am writing the review from the experience he shared with me. Please note Steve and I have both been married previously. Steve thought that the whole interview as focused on both of our divorces. Our review of the interview is from a divorcee perspective, unlike some of the other reviews that we’ve read on here. I think they did go more in-depth with questions on our case vs. just the regular how and when did you meet, etc.

Steve got in line at 6:55am and there were about 15 people ahead of him in line at that time. He said it was pretty organized how they sort you out with regards to where you need to be standing. He highly recommends getting to the Embassy by 7am (his interview was at 9am) and also couldn’t believe the massive amount of people in line and the amount of armed guards outside the Embassy. One guy near him in line wasn... read complete review
