I had my interview on Wednesday 15th April at 9AM. I got to the embassy at around 8:15AM, at this point there two lines were really long and almost at the street. I asked a guy at the white tent a to which line I should stand in and he told me to come back at 8:35AM, I came back and was told which line to stand in, this line moved quickly and half way to the white tent a girl came round checking paperwork as I had a Immigrant appointment I was taken to the front and asked to stand in the much shorter line, everything moved quickly and I was in the security and out within minutes.
I got inside and was assigned I922, the waiting room was already really full and more and more people were coming in, staff inside were telling people to not block the door and to keep moving forward. I waited for about 30 minutes to be called to window 1 where I handed over my paperwork, had my finger printed captured and then was asked a few questions and was giving a CD with my chest x-r... read complete review

My fiancée lives in London, so we got a train to Liverpool Street station, and then a Central Line tube to Bond Street, which was about a 5 minute walk from the embassy. When we got there around 7.20, the queue was probably 60-80 people long, but staff were already letting people through security and the queue was moving steadily. A woman came down the queue with plastic bags for phones, belts, and watches, and asked if everyone in the queue was there for 8.00 appointments. The woman in front of us had a 9.00 appointment and was told to queue up later, as she wouldn’t be let in so early. Another woman was coming down the queue checking passports and DS-160s, and it took her about 15 minutes to get to us. We asked if we could go straight to the desk since we were there for a K1, and she said yes, so we moved to a shorter queue which I assume was all immigrant visa interviews. The man we talked to at the desk was super nice and he directed us to security. Outside security, we g... read complete review

I arrived into Kings Cross at 8.30pm the night before my interview. I stayed in a Travelodge that is about a 10-minute walk down the road from the station, and settled in for an early night.
I woke up the next morning and packed my rucksack with my document binder, a book and my earbuds. My interview was at 9am, so I set off at around 7am, took the underground over to Bond Street (about 15 minutes from Kings Cross), and arrived at the Embassy around 7.30am. The queue outside was surprisingly small (based on what other people have reported), and moved fairly quickly. Soon after arriving, a woman walking up and down the queue asked me to remove my DS-160, interview letter and passport from my binder. She checked them and then told me to keep them out until I was inside. After about 5 minutes, I reached the marquee at the front, where they checked my papers again, stuck a sticker to my interview letter with my interview number on (I912, meaning I was the 12th immigrant visa... read complete review

The interview day.
Arrived at 8.30 am to the US embassy, to be greeted by a massive queue. Was in the line half an hour before staff came along asking if anyone had an immigrant visa.
K1 visa - allowed me access to front of the line and get through the security checks. You are allowed phones an tablets, just not laptops.
Arrival into the embassy was another long wait, it was 1.5 hours before I was called up.
Then another 1.5 hours before being called up again for my interview. The interview taking 5 minutes in total and then being told I had been approved.
All in all a very long wait. Try and find a seat ! And keep your eye on the board for your number, numbers which dont come through in any particular order. There is food and drinks that are available to be purchased and also a photo booth machine for VISA photos. (Only one is actually needed)
The staff were friendly and its just the waiting that is more nerve w... read complete review
