Apologies in advance if this review seems like total overkill, but I wanted to make sure it was as comprehensive and helpful to others as it can be (as well as document my personal experience). As with all other May/June immigrant visa interviewees, my appointment time was changed from 9:30am to 1:00pm, which was appreciated as it allowed me to eat breakfast and doze in the hotel until check-out time. I took the Central line from Queensway to Bond Street and exited the tube station on to Oxford Street. Once you're there, turn left to walk in the direction of Marble Arch until you find North Audley Street on your left. The embassy is at the bottom of the street, about a five minute walk from the station in all. I passed the infamous Gould's Pharmacy on my right, and thanked god that I didn't have to contribute to their prolific profiteering as I had packed light and only had a rucksack. I immediately recognised that I was near to the embassy as I could make out a long queue of people sn... read complete review

I was impressed how well things moved in London, having spent months in the Texas Service Center tar pit!

My medical was 10th April 2015 and 2 weeks later I got a letter inviting me to interview on 8th May - less than a month after the medical.

My appointment time was 1pm but I knew I'd probably spend a long time waiting inside. My letter said they would not admit me to the embassy before 1230, so I waited a few minutes until that time and then joined the short queue outside. There was a little temporary shelter with a couple of girls checking basic documents (invitation letter, DS160 receipt, passport) and they then directed me to the security queue.

A short wait and then I was admitted to the airport-style security. This was very quick and efficient. In the past you could not bring in mobile phones, but that is fine now (tablets are okay too, but not laptops).

I followed the signs to the visa entrance and queued for a short... read complete review

Very pleased with the whole interview experience. My appointment time was originally at 09:30, however, we received an email a couple of weeks ago to say that the time had changed to 13:00. I called up prior to the interview date, to confirm, and the lady was very polite and helpful.

On the day of the interview, I arrived at the Embassy around 12:15. There was a tent outside, where you check in. The girls there told me I was a little early, as security does not open until 12:30, but they checked me in anyway, and told me to wait a little while. Just before 12:30, she instructed me to have my passport checked by the guard, and to pass through the checks. I was first through, and was pleasantly surprised to find that all the security guards were incredibly friendly and smiley, and wished me luck. Upon entry, the receptionist gave me a waiting number, and directed me to the waiting room. The room was filled with people, facing two large screens - one which shows whic... read complete review

My original appointment was for 8am on the 7th May but received an email from the consulate a three weeks ago, stating that during May and June they would be starting the interviews from 1pm. Consequently my new time was 1pm on the same day. This suited me better as it meant I did not have to stay overnight to make the early interview appointment.

I travelled up to Waterloo and then caught the tube to Bond Street. The embassy is only a ten minute walk from the station. I arrived a couple of hours before my scheduled time and having satisfied myself of where to go, wasted some time in a coffee house.

In the letter, it tells you to get there half-hour early (12:30)I arrived at 12:15 and joined a queue of around 9 others in front of me. The place you queue is right outside the front of the embassy.
The tent which was there earlier, where they did the initial check of documents had been taken down, so after a cursory passport check and having my name t... read complete review

I arrived at around 7:15am at the embassy and there was already a line of about 15 people. There was no staff from the embassy out yet so I just joined the line. I waited about 30 minutes and once the staff had finished setting up the desks they asked if any immigrant visa applications can make their way down to the front. Here I showed them my interview letter, ds-160 and passport.

You then go into airport style security - you can take mobiles and I had a messenger bag with me. Once through this I made my way into the embassy and got in just before 8am.

I went up to the reception and showed my interview letter and they assigned me I903 and was told to wait in waiting area.

The announcement system on the big screen was not working so they were calling people on a loud speaker. Everything was still running very efficiently. I waited around 15 minutes and was called up to the first window. Here a very polite British man asked me for my intervi... read complete review
