Helpful tips for drivers: There is an NCP parking lot the London Millennium Hotel which is not as affordable as NCP parking lot on Welbeck Street (near the place you have your medical). The price you'd pay is half than what you would pay closer to the embassy as long as you're willing to walk further.

For those needing cosponsors: For London don't be concerned if you need a cosponsor, so long as you can provide good evidence of support.

My fiancé joined the queue at 25 minutes past 12, for his 1pm appointment. There was only 4 other people. You put your items into the security checkpoint and went around to the right of the building, then you go up the steps to the reception desk. Reception was pleasant and you get some stickers put on your interview letter. Then you go up the stairs and to the left; by the time he sat down it was 28 minutes past. He was number 30, and they were seeing tickets 24 and 25 by the time he arrived, so he wasn't having to wait ... read complete review

Very pleasant experience. Arrived at 12, for a 13:00 appointment, got into the embassy at 12:30. Got my ticket number, I901. I was called up at exactly 13:00 to have my finger prints taken and hand in my documents - overall took 20 minutes. I sat back down and waited 30 minutes or so for my interview. The lady was very pleasant. I was put under oath, had my fingerprints checked, and then asked a few simple questions: Who is on the Affidavit of Support, Where were you married, and does your wife have a big family (any brothers or sisters). I answered them and she typed a few things, and then said "I have approved your visa, it will arrive by courier within the next 14 days. Make sure you go to the US by January 15th 2016, as your medical expires then. You will receive a packet which says DO NOT OPEN, so make sure you don't open it". I thanked her, and I was out by 14:10.

Number one tip: bring something to do/read, it's a lot of waiting in a waiting room.

And yes you can bring phones and tablets. I was fine with my kindle.

Dropped my bag off at Gould Pharmacy £3.00 a bag. If you have a laptop they'll ask you to take that out and will put it into a safe but will also charge another £3.00 on top. They do visa photos for £7.50 for four.

Queued up at 12:20, I was about 10th in line and there was probably about 20 behind me before we moved.

Lady on the desk checked my appointment form and passport which then got checked again by security before entering the security immigration line. They do about four people at a time in the security hut. Similar experience to airports. I can imagine the queuing outside not to be pleasant if its raining! I did see an umbrella stand by the front doors of the embassy after security.

After security you walk out the hut when you have your stuff around... read complete review

So I had my interview today. An experience to be remembered. I would probably consider this a post (If I was reading it) of someone who isn't on the ball. When reading says "That's not me, I am ready" how wrong I was.
As I left the house heading to the train station, I had a nagging feeling I was forgetting something. I soon realised as I stood on the platform that it was my passport I had forgotten . So train now missed, as I raced back home, retrieved my passport and rebooked a new train ticket (another £60). Now I'm off to London, but I'm late.... No fear my charm will save my ass. I get to the embassy, a wet mess after running through our finest summer rains, 20 mins late. They allow me entry, but I am told in no uncertain terms by the security guy "Doubt they'll see ya mate, your late!" like I didn't know Just in case I missed it the first time, the nice lady on reception told me the same rebuke on my punctuality. But ... read complete review
