interview was at 9:00am, I arrived at 8:00am and there were 3 lines, I joined one and was told by someone asking when peoples interviews were to go straight to the desk to "sign in" with my passport and DS-160. I was then told to join a specific line which a guard looked at peoples DS-160 and Passports one by one then I joined another short line where 4 people at a time were told to go through a hut that was basicly like going through airport security.

Then I walked around the building and up some stairs to a reception to sign in where i got a number then walked up some more steps to the waiting room where there was maybe 100 seats and a huge TV screen with random embassy videos on it, then after 8:00am people were called out by a speaker system before the numbers were called out via the big tv screen everytime by a loud noise.

the numbers were called out in numberical order such as N-1, N-2, N-3 however the majority were numbers such as N-1 whereas K1 interviews were numbers such as I-101.

When my number was called out i walked down a short hallway to a interview booth where i had my papers looked over and then told to sit back down, when my number was called again i went back the way i came to have my interview which was very informal and casual where the lady asked me simple questions and i was approved then left the embassy.

in total it took 4 hours total, it took 1 hour after being first called up to be called again but was told it could be anywhere up to 4 hours. the entire process was very streamlined and efficient and not at all confusing. the embassy staff were rather friendly and good at their jobs.

right outside the embassy is a large park area with benches and trees to sit under so if youre turned away for being early you can sit and wait there or go there to relax after the interview.

all in all it was a very fast and pleasurable process

mobile phones ARE allowed in the embassy as are watches and wallets just not laptops.
