My fiance just had his interview a few hours ago and was approved! A great text message to wake up to. He said it was painless enough and it was a lot of waiting:
He arrived at 7:35-40 and there were already about 40-50 people in line. He saw one agent talking to someone and then walking them into the embassy. When that agent came back out, my fiance showed him his appointment letter and he was brought in as well. The long line was for non immigrant visas.

He got a number at 7:45 and then went up to the waiting room and waited for his number to be called for about 40 minutes. When his number was called, the agent only wanted the AOS, police checks from all countries, original birth certificate, the letter from the employer, proof of payment and appointment letter. They did not ask for DS-160, intent to marry, my bank statements, or proof of ongoing relationship.

He said the exchange with the documents agent was longer than the actual interview, and... read complete review

I got to the embassy about 7.50 am (I had my interview at 8.30am) and there were already a long queue outside. I went to the tent and showed my interview confirmation letter and they let me through the security right away without queening.

I got my number. The embassy does not really open until 8.0 am so they didn't really calling up numbers until that time. I had maybe waited 15 mins and was called in.

I went to the window and really nice gentleman greeted me. That made me feel a little bit better/less stressed. He confirm my address and asked for the phone number. He asked me if I signed up with career services and he got me confused and I said now. Then, I understood that he meant if I pay for my visa/delivery and he asked for the payment confirmation. He also mentioned, that it will take about 10 days for my visa to come. After that he asked about my departure date and he put ASAP on the form. He asked for my passport (I also gave him the older passp... read complete review

Everything went smoothly. Fiance was asked just one question, answered it and was told that all of the questions were answered in one and then was approved. The only piece of evidence (both personal and financial) they asked for was the petitioner letter from the employer as a proof of employment. Very serious interview, yet fairly simple.

I arrived at the London embassy at around 7.30am. My appointment was at 8.30am, not that it really mattered - I think they just use those as a guideline because my number didn't get called for the first time until about 9.30am.

There was already a big queue at the tents outside when I arrived. I waited in line for a while until one of the stewards checked my paper and saw I was an Immigrant Visa case. She told me to go to the front of the line but then I just joined a second long line to get into the embassy, so it didn't make much difference.

Went through security, then walked through to the reception desk where they generated my ticket number and printed this on a series of stickers that they stuck to my appointment letter. Don't touch those stickers - they use them for your files when you go to the window to submit your documents.

I sat down in the massive waiting hall and watched the screen where the ticket numbers come up like everyone... read complete review

I arrived at the embassy at 7am for an 8am appointment, the queues were about 15 deep, but it wasn't until 7.30am when embassy employees surfaced and separated the lines that I realised a lot of the people queuing were for non-immigrant visas. A sigh of relief.

I was second in line on the immigrant visa queue and the first for the day on a K-1. As I watched the lines of non-immigrant visas go through into the embassy I was concerned we were getting forgotten about (and would therefore have to join the back of this now 100 strong line), but shortly before 8am we were 'fast-tracked' to the front of this queue, into security, then straight into embassy to then another 'fast-tracked' queue, much to the dissatisfaction of other visitors who just thought we were queue jumping. People get irate very quickly at the sight of queues. Immigrant visas appeared to be a bit more scheduled than non-immigrant which felt more first come, first served, hence tensions running high!
