Dec. 2nd INTERVIEW! - Approved!
The medical was easy enough, found the place fine and it took less than an hour. Doctor was very cold and business like and I felt really nervous because of it, but it was all fine in the end.
Once the Immigrant Visa Unit received my case I emailed them to explain our situation (hubby being made redundant, I'm pregnant, hoping to move and get settled before baby arrives) and ask if there was any way to schedule t... read complete review

My interview was on 2 December at 8.00am, exactly a month after my medical. I arrived outside the US Embassy in London at 7.00am and was 6th in line. They started checking your appointment letter, passport and DS160 confirmation letter just before 8.00am and then went through airport style security to get into the embassy. At the reception you are given your number and then you enter a large waiting area where you can buy hot drinks, cold drinks and snacks. I waited only about 15 minutes and was called forward to provide my documents - passport, birth certificate, affidavit of support, police certificate. I had my finger prints taken and was asked what date I planned to travel. I was asked if I had ever lived in any other countries after the age of 16.
I think sat back down and waited about an hour and was called for the actual interview. You have to give an oath that you will tell the truth and then the questions began. What was our story, where did we meet? Ha... read complete review

Filling this out for my wife, the beneficiary.
My wife arrived at about 710 for an 830 appointment. After being sorted into a queue based on her time she was then told to go to the front since she was an immigrant visa. Apparently this angered some in the queue. I only wish I could have been there to see that as my wife hates having attention on her. 😜
After arriving inside she had to wait a good hour before being called up to do her documents. At this point the man asking for her documents started asking her the questions that were on the medical form. They did not see her medical which was completed on 9 Nov. However, after she assured them that she had done it, they just asked if she had been told to see her GP about anything. She told the officer no and they took her documents and fingerprints.
After about 2 hours she was called back up to do the interview. The officer asked when we got married and how we met. My wife, who had... read complete review

The basics...
8am interview. Arrived 730am. Got through screening before 8am. Processing started at 8am. I was 9th in line on the IV. Took about 40 mins to get seen. Handed over required forms. Sat back down. 10am got my interview. Started smooth and smiley. Just basic questions about my fiance. All good until she asked if I have met her family. I haven't. Her mood changed. She said it was weird. I explained in detail why. A bit tense. Whole thing only 10-15 minutes of rapid questioning. And then she approved me. Easy!
I would recommend meeting the family! Ha. Apart from that no drama.
Next stop... MARRIAGE!
