My appointment was at 8.00am I arrived at 7am there was a huuuuge line already!
My husband is visting for Christmas so he came along with me, I added him onto the access list months ago, but low and behold he wasn't on it and security said they wouldnt be able to let him in! I was so upset, so I spoke to a lady secutity member who called up the office when they opened at 8.00am and they put him on the list! Horay! I would advise if anyone is wanting to put their spouse on the access list to call up and make sure they are on the list before hand.
We went in and waiting for 30 minuets before my number came up my spouse and I went to a window with a very friendly man who took our documents, scanned my finger prints and did some small talk with my husband about life in the UK!
We then sat down for a further 45 minuets before we were called to a second window for my interview, the lady was also very nice and friendly and got me to do an oaf and then asked a few queestions: "Where did you meet" When did you get married" "When was the last time, before right now you saw your spouse" "What does he do for work" My husband kept getting excited and trying to answer the questions! haha! The lady kindly reminded him that it was my interview and he shouldn't answer. The whole thing was over in like 4 minuets, she handed my documents back to me, but kept my passport, wished us a happy christmas and said I was approved!
A pretty quick and painless process to be honest.
I've had a J1 interview at the embassy before but this one was a lot more easy going! I was quiet surprised!
