Appointment was scheduled for 11.30am. Arrived at 11.10am. Went through security outside the building where they check your passport and interview letter.
Went up to the reception desk where she gave me a ticket number. Went to the waiting area. Waited 10mins and was called to be first desk where the woman asked for my passport, birth certificate, police certificate and my affidavit of support.
Sat back down again in the waiting area. Waited around 20-30mins and was called up to another desk. The guy just asked how we met, how many times we've visited each other, and how my family was feeling about the wedding being in the U.S. He then approved the visa and I was able to leave.
I entered the building at 11.10am and was out by 12 noon. A fairly painless process, just make sure you have all the documents you need.

This review is being submitted on behalf of my husband, a British citizen so it may not be as detailed as some of the others but hopefully it will provide some insight!
He arrived 3 hours early (being as cautious as he is) around 9 AM and was told that IR1/CR1 applicants are only allowed in within 20 minutes of their designated interview appointment. The line extended all the way into the park but after speaking with a representative, they scribbled his interview time on his interview letter in red, stated that usually the line clears up by noon and they were right. When he returned at around noon, the line had disappeared.
His interview was at 12:30PM so he decided to grab some food and review his paperwork in the park. At noon, he went back and entered after providing the requested passport and interview letter, he proceeded to the security check where they scan your bags and belongings. They made it clear that laptops are not permitted but he was al... read complete review

Our experience was similar to what everyone else's with their interview, there was nothing to worry about.
My fiance and I over-prepared, I made a binder with a table of contents, dividers, and labelled everything to the T and they didn't take anything except the pay stubs and I-134 form. They didn't even take the letter from my employer, which really surprised us.
My fiance compared it to the DMV, where you go up to a kiosk/desk and give documents and have a short conversation but you really spend most of your time sitting in the communal seating area.
I definitely would not have done anything differently, even though the embassy didn't take 95% of the documents we had prepared but I want to express that it really isn't a stressful environment.
Also, it's difficult to find in the forums (if it even exists) but the 1-134 form, pays stubs, and tax form all need to be original or have wet-ink signatures. The first package I s... read complete review

My interview was on 20th December 2016 for K-1 Visa. My appointment was at 12pm. I arrived pretty early (10:45ish) and there was a white tent outside with 3 girls waiting. I have read people saying there can be a huge queue which you get bypassed around, but when I arrived there was not a single person waiting. I asked if I was too early and they said it was fine, then asked for my passport and my appointment letter and crossed me off a list. I was then went through a small building outside the main embassy which was basically an airport security setup. I then went into the main building and there was a girl on reception who then gave me a ticket number (I 906) and told me to go to the waiting room on the left.
Inside was a fairly large room which rows of chairs and it was pretty busy inside. I sat down and I could hear bleeping each time a number was called, which was also shown on the screen. There were slideshows going on to tell you what documents to have ready for w... read complete review

My fiance arrived 15 minutes prior to the appointment and waited for his number to be called. After about 15 minutes, they called his number. They fingerprinted him and asked for the paperwork. He only needed 1 passport picture, the police certificate, birth certificate, appt letter, passport, the I-134 and my tax return. They did not take the letter from my employer stating my wages or my W2 forms. They also gave him a copy of his chest x-ray from the medical.
He waited about 30 more minutes and was called back up for the actual interview. They asked how we met, if he'd been here and i'd been there, and a little about him meeting my family. They told him it was approved and said it would be 5-7 days til he would get the stuff back by courier. He said it was very easy except he had a little trouble understanding the person interviewing him. He was in and out of the embassy in just under an hour.
