Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

The interview was on March 9th 2020 and while the put it under AP and we sent the documents they needed right away, they sent him back to across the boarder to Uganda and shut everything down because of Covid. We have been waiting ever since and now the case is mission critical and still waiting. We don't mind giving what they need but it has been to long we have lived apart and just need someone to finish the AP.

Review Topic: K1 Visa

First thing’s first, the K Visa is non-immigrant but in this situation considered immigrant just for scheduling purposes.
NOA2 was received on 16/Feb/2019 but we had to wait for official confirmation from the US embassy we chose(in Kenya) nevertheless my fiancee kept calling them for updates until one day they answered giving me my 13-character case number.

So since I had done research about this whole process and I knew what to do next, I didn't wait for official confirmation, I went to this website https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/ to get my Ds-160 done, but before you visit the site make sure you have a soft copy of your passport photo on your computer and also email yourself the confirmation page as that is the page they’ll ask at the embassy entrance and also your interview.(print ample). Beware that some web browsers may not work well with that site, I used firefox and it worked fine for me.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Medical exam on 21&22nd of August at IOM Gigiri:

We took the Easy coach bus from Malaba directly to Nairobi. We stayed at the Gigiri express hotel for $60 per night, and it included breakfast. The hotel is just a block or two away from IOM. Husband left at 7:30 am to arrive a little before 8 am. Everything was straightforward. They took two passport photos and directed him through the whole process. The first day they asked about immunizations, all of which we got ahead of time in Uganda. They took his Blood Pressure and blood sample, then gave him the payment slip, which was only for the cost of the exam since he had all vaccinations.

We paid the fees at the bank inside Village Market and then went to enjoy Nairobi!

The second day was much shorter and he was out by 10am, after handing over his payment form and taking chest xrays and being g examined.

We left that night and arrived home in Uganda the next morning.
