Review Topic: K1 Visa

Appointment was at 8:30am and got to Window 4 at 11:00am. Not a bad wait. Asked 4 questions of her; how did we meet, when did we meet, how many times I came to visit her, and when were we planning on getting married. Asked me two questions; if I came to visit her on work or pleasure and When I was planning on taking her to America. We had one form that we did not submit but it will not affect visa approval. It only delayed her getting her visa from 7-11-2007 till 7-16-2007 which is no big deal since she isn't coming to America until Labor Day Week. The woman at the Embassy, Window 4, was Miss Ho. Been on the job for 3 weeks. She was very nice and polite. No problems with her. She asked my fiance questions in English which was a little difficult but we got through it OK. Embassy was professional and handled our case very good. No complaints and now I'm relieved and happy that that process is over.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Had our interview scheduled for 8:30 on June 21, but we were worried about traffic so left early from home and got to the consulate about 6:45. We went straight in, ignoring the line, I just showed them my US passport. Window 5 opened about 7am, and I was the first there to turn in my wife's documents. The lady was nice, and handed back some documents I had included "just in case". She then gave me a pay-in slip to take to the cashier. Professional, polite service.

The cashier wasn't open, and didn't open until almost 8am, by which time there was a line of 6 or 7 people. I was first in line, and paid my $380 ($45 fingerprint fee, $335 filing fee). I took the receipt back to window 5, which by now had a line, but the nice lady there saw me and waived me over to window 6 and took the receipt. She then told me that there was a meeting with the people doing the interviews across the street, and they wouldn't start interviewing until 9am, in case we wanted to get something to... read complete review

It was very uneventful interview in Bangkok. Arrived at 6:30 am. Got inside at 6:45 am. Guard does not allow to bring cell phones or laptops inside. Submitted paperwork to window #5. Sit and wait till 10 am. A lot of people inside applying for a variety of visas. Only one clerk appeared to be working on K1/3 visas. There were 2 couples with kids and one single woman. At least one couple got the visa, the rest I could not tell. Interviewer spoke broken Thai. My fiancé had a hard time understanding his questions. Her English is way better then his Thai. I have no idea why didn’t he just ask her in English. Questions: How did you meet your fiancé? Where did you meet your fiancé? How many times your fiancé visited Thailand? Where does he lives? He asked me some meaningless questions and it was over. Oh yes, he fingerprinted my fiancé as well. “Return to pick up visa day after tomorrow at 3 p.m.”

Over all, besides a 3 hour wait and interviewers ... read complete review
