Counellor was very nice and personable. However, the embassy (Thai) staff was rushed, rude, intollerant, and basically incompetant. I needed to use my congressman's office to communicate with them and tell them that they were WRONG to ask for some extra documents that don't even exsist in America.
I've dealt with this embassy for years while living in Thailand, and unfortunately this is the norm for them. They must have great job security to be able to treat people the way they do and not get fired!

I had my interview on September 5 and i was not approved because the CO wanted evidence that my legal stay in the US from 1997-2005 was legal. for more details and my submitted documents, please go to http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=86453

i don't have anything mahor to complain about the embassy even though i didn't get approved. i was really frustrated with the additional document i was told to submit. However, after i thought about that, the request was legitimate.

one thing, though. the thai lady at the window #6 where i submitted my documents was not friendly for some reason. she was not rude but could have been a little nicer. the security guards at the gate spoke to me more nicely than she did.

6:45 Arrived and entered embassy.
7:00 Windows 5 & 6 collected our documents and gave back a couple extra they didn't want. They spoke Thai when we did this.
7:30 Scheduled interview time.
8:40 Called up for interview at window 4 (Not exactly private with a speaker the whole room could hear. Our interview was in English.)
8:45 Visa approved.

I went to the interview with my fiance. There is a new interviewer named Jan who is probably about 30 years old with glasses. She was being supervised by the Japanese-American guy I've been reading about, and I seriously think she was more nervous than we were. I also noticed they had already put a big red "APPROVED" stamp on our paperwork before the interview even started.

First, the interviewer introduced herself and had my fiance do electronic fingerprints.
Then they asked me to go sit down while they interviewed my fiance.

They a... read complete review

Interview went well. Not a long wait time. In and out in less than 2 hrs. Asked the following to my girl a) What are you Finace sons names ? b) how old are they ? c) will you be taking care of them when you move to the USA ? d) How many times has your Fiance come to Thailand ? e) when was the last time he came ? That was it !!! "Come get you Visa on Friday" It was a breeze , may be because I hired a local lawyer, not sure ! If you have the cash, hire one. I really beleive it helps, especially if they know the embassy personnel.
