Review Topic: K1 Visa

Interview comments: Pooky arrived 90 minutes early for her interview. They took her into the interview room where there were 4 other couples on k1 Visa interview. Lots of people for travel visas. They spent 30 min looking at her documentation she brought with her-Passport, proof of being single, birth certificate. She then met with a interviewer who spoke thai and English, but asked only 3 questions in English-Where did you meet, where is he from, and what does he do in his job. Okay, Visa approved. You should receive in 7 days. Visa arrived in 3 days.

We stayed at Jim's Lodge located behind the Consulate (not sure I'd recommend that place, it was rather run down and very very dated)... however the rooms were clean and it was only a 10-12 minute walk from there. Her appointment was scheduled for 8:00AM, we arrived at 7:15AM and was allowed in within 3 minutes as there was only one other person in line. Once inside she presented her paperwork to the lady at the window which deals with the K1 and IR1 visas, then paid the $325 fee. The consulate is using and exchange rate of 34 baht to the dollar which is higher than what is currently is by over 2 baht. She paid using her Thai issued credit card only because she was short 50 baht. Wou... read complete review

She said they only ask a few questions and was in and out in 20 minutes! Very easy she said.
