Some notes taken from a conversation with my fiancée, who was the one at the interview:
She spent 30 minutes in line, perfectly timed to get drenched by a passing English rainstorm - there's no covered waiting area. She was one of about 200 getting visas this morning, of which perhaps 15 were immigrant visas of one kind or another. She was seen fairly soon and people were pleasant.
She described the gentleman who interviewed her as a bit robotic, but pleasant. (But then, who wouldn't be robotic after hundreds of similar interviews?) She was asked the standard 'how did you meet' question, some questions about my history and family (did she know where my brother lives?), our plans for children, etc. She was asked to supply a confirming fiancé intent letter from me, so I was glad she had asked me to send it recently. Anticlimatic. Just one question -- how we got to know each other. The interviewer explained to my wife why we did our proxy wedding -- basically paraphrasing from my petitions. Documents were in order. Visa was in hand in 2.5 working days, although DHL had to send it halfway across the country.

Seryozha had his interview today, and was approved!!! He was asked lots of questions about how we met, wedding plans, what we will do in the US. They didn't look at any e-mails, or phone records, just questions. He said the consulate officer was very nice and polite. A very good experience.

After all the stress and worries we had leading up to this day, the interview ended up being a breeze! The consular officer was very friendly to my wife and didn't seem skeptical with any of his questioning. Pretty much the only questions asked were:
How did you meet your husband?
What do you know about his family?
Tell me about his job.
He picked out a few of the photographs she brought to the interview and asked her to talk about them.
I met my wife on a family vacation to Russia on a riverboat cruise (she worked on the ship) so she had already met 11 other members of my family including my mom and grandparents. She had been in email contact with my mom, dad, aunt, and grandparents since we met and she brought those emails to the interview. Her contact with my family probably helped prove the legitimacy of our relationship.

Short interview, and Consul was pleasant and nice. No problems and my Fiance' was worried for nothing. I spent the time outside speaking with some idiot that thought he totally understood "Russian Chicks" and such, and trying to pray for my Fiance' and her daughter between his imbecilic ramblings.
Top notch interviewer and my Lady and her daughter were ecstatic  after.
Now I am also!
