The interview was scheduled AM. Wife appeared 5am at US Embassy and was finished with the entire process by 2PM the same day. The consul officer (female) was very polite but never indicated a problem with documentation and instructed us to pay delbros after 2 minutes of a few questions and taking a quick glance at supporting evidence offered of previous communications, email, postal cards, ect ect.
After submitting delbros fee and beleiving we were approved it was then that my wife was advised that our case was put in Administrative Review for a document check and we were told to wait 4 to 6 weeks for the embassy to mail her a new apointment date. Wife was persistent with consul workers and found that we could obtain additional copies directly from NSO Quezon city and hand deliver to consul window in an attempt to speed up our AR timeline. Wife obtained additional copies of mc and bc and provided to us embassy the very next day. We remained in AR for only 3 weeks before ... read complete review

Greetings of Peace!
My fiance already submitted our application for K1 visa first week of December, 2006. My question is... How long it will take to get a K1 visa?
Thank you!

Everything went smoothly, they didn't ask for any documents since I have already submitted them all at the NVC.

My interview went very well. I think i came there overprepared. I brought all my papers and albums. Some weren't even asked but its good to be prepared. I was asked simple questions like how we met, how many times have we met, why do i love my fiancee, etc. And i got approved! Thanks a lot. Right now, we are living together as husband and wife and we couldn't be any happier than just to be together coz it took us 6 years to be together.

Interactions with the interviewers were professional, thorough, and relatively painless. In the process of petitioning, and waiting, the Embassy was less than perfect in maintenance of the documentation and in communicating. Detail follows, overall I'd say a 4 out of 5, but I'm in a good mood right now 'cos we just got approved.
During the I130 petition process, the embassy lost our annullment originals plus other important docs in an LBC delivery that was signed-for by their mail room clerk. Main cost was time as we all were sitting waiting, they for our papers, and us for their response.
Then the "packet 3" as it used to be called was "lost in the mail", another loss of time for us.
Our congresswoman's staff requested an early interview for us, and the embassy granted 2 weeks advance. But when we got there today (at 6:20am) we were not on the list. We persuaded the guards to let us in. Called to Window X (not a good thing), we were informed that our medical was ... read complete review
