The consulate who interviewed me is very kind and professional. It took her less than 5 minutes to interview me.

As long as you know your petitioner deeply, you have all the necessary documents ready and well-presented and you are confident enough to answer all of the questions, things will work out right... At the end of the interview the consul will surely say, "Congratulations, your visa has been approved."

my visa was approved last january 27. the process was relatively easy at the us embassy in jakarta. i went there on the same date at 830am for the document screening and was fortunate to be scheduled for interview in the afternoon as well. i guess it helped that i made sure that all the documents are complete and that i have all the originals with me. i also sent them an email requesting for an interview on the same day as document screening as i have to travel 5 hours to go to jakarta (thanks devie for the advice, it sure worked!)

i was told to stay for the 10am fingerprinting and came back at 1pm for the interview. there were around 10 people scheduled that afternoon and it was pretty quiet.

when it was my turn (at around 300 pm), the CO didn't ask for any additional documents as my photos and other proof of relationships were already asked during the document screening. the CO who interviewed me was, i think, being trained as he was with a senior offi... read complete review
