First the good news, we are approved. This day holds other significance too as it was exactly a year ago (Feb 7th 2007) when I walked off the plane and into the arms of the women I met via a random yahoo event almost 4 years ago.
As the USC I will add a few comments to what others have said..
First, I would highly recommend that the USC go to this interview as its a unique experience that is something to be shared. Its far worse than your worst DVM experience and quite honestly if they tried to have Americans do this kind of thing there would be a serious mango-juice come tea party right outside the USEM in the harbor. Its not the process per say, though someone who has taken basic statistics can spot many ways to improve things. Its the complete lack of information and communications along the way which was mind-boggling
We arrived at 5am into a sea of people wondering around the embassy, there were the vendors outside selling ever... read complete review

All in all my wife said they were very nice to her even the pre-screener. The C.O. was kind and considerate to our case and the whole interview was over in like 5 minutes.

Our interview experience in Manila US Embassy went really well..
Our appointment is at 7a and arrived there approximately 5a. The first hour was mainly triple checking our documents and a whole lot of waiting game. At about 6:45a all applicant with 0700 hrs appointment were then allowed to go inside through security point. We sat for another 15 minutes before we were told to take our appointment letter, DS-157/156/156k out. We were told to make sure all fields were filled in before obtaining our ticket # which then were used through out the whole process. Approximately half an hour after, our number were called for biometrics (fingerprints) this took only about 10 minutes. Then again a whole lot of waiting game.....it was somewhere between 7:30-8:00a...and yes more waiting..hmmm..hmmm...Alas! our number were called for the second time for pre-screaning at 8:15a. The set up was pretty straight forward, a glass window between Filipina lady and my fiance and I. She was very pleasan... read complete review

My wife stated that the lady there for pre screen was a little rude but the CO took 2 minutes to do her INTERVIEW and done with her questionare and he, CO, told her to thank me for what I am doing for our country and the people in the Armed Forces regardless of their branch. That was nice of HIM and not even knowing him. She was done and out of USEM with joy and very happy by 10 am and her appt was 0830, that was the time she got called by her pre screener. I wish I was there to see her reactions! Besides that lady, USEM was as expected, busy and noisy...some are screaming of joys and some just having the kids with them for an interview.

It was short yet it seemed to take forever because of the tense feeling I had that time. The consul is too calm. Too much that it's like killing me cos he won't smile or had a single reaction on his face. But I guess that's how they should act (?).
In general, it went well and I'm so glad that it was over.
