Review Topic: K1 Visa

We left our hotel a few blocks away from the Embassy around 5 am. When we got there, there was 3 lines for entering the Embassy. The one closest to the embassy (furthest from the street) is the one for the Immigrant visas (K1) and CR-1's. I would estimate that there was already about 100 people ahead of us in line (and even though we had a 6:15 appointment, we had to go to the end of the line. We figured out that the appointment time is nothing more than a block time (queue time) for entering the embassy. Having the 615 appointment only meant that we will be allowed to enter the embassy during the first group. The locals outside are pestering you to buy pens, take a better photo or glue your picture on the 156 form. NONE of that is needed. We did not staple our photo on the 156, and either did our friends, Angeli and Mark. We met them in line after talking on here. About 0605, they opened the embassy to allow us in. We went through the first security checkpoint, showing her appointment... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

First of all, I would just like to say thanks to all those who have helped my fiancee and I go through this process. We are far from over with it, but we've taken a huge step forward by getting approved for the visa. my fiancee had her interview yesterday March 24th (Philippine Time). Everything went well and at this moment she is going to PRISM to do her CFO Seminar.

Anyways, I would just like to share her experience during her interview yesterday. She arrived at the US Embassy at around 5:15am. She said there were already people lined up when she arrived. She said she was like one the last people to get in line for K-1 Visa Interviews. She got inside the building at around 6:30am and went through security. at 7:40am her number was called to get her pre-screening done. The pre-screener asked her for the DS documents, I-134, Tax transcripts, Receipt of payment, and W2. She asked the same basic questions that others have told: What's your name? What's your fiance's name? ... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Me and my husband went out from our hotel at around 05:15 AM. We walked towards the embassy and got there at around 5 minutes later. There were already 3 long lines waiting outside. I met Ann&Wes there. 06:05AM they let us in. I was asked to present my confirmation letter and valid ID. My husband presented his passport. We proceeded to the "immigrant and K visas only" counter and gave my confirmation letter. The lady gave me my priority number 6049. Then we were asked to proceed to the next building and enter door 3. We sat on the waiting area and waited for my number to be flashed on the screen. When it did, I proceeded to window 40 for finger scanning then went back to the waiting area. My number flashed again and my husband and I went to window 53 for pre-screening. She asked me and my husband the following questions: When and how did we meet, how many times my husband visited me, is my husband married before, how many children, what is his occupation, what is my occupation, who is ... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

I wrote this coz there\'s not much reviews lately... I had my interview March 21, 2011. I arrived around 5:30am, an hour before my 6:30am appointment, i found that the 6:15 appointment were already lined up per category Immigrant (K visa belongs to immigrant), tourist visa and seaman (6:20 appointment). However, there are 6:15 appointments who arrived exactly around 6:15, so its a bit unfair for those 6:30\'s and 7:00\'s appointment who arrived earlier (Advice: If you are positive that you can get to the embassy very early... take the earliest appointment time).

Around 6:30 they announce that we can go in... so we went in.. you will go through door #3 first building is the security building (they have x-ray machine so no cellphones, etc), then you will go out pass the security building and fall in line to get your number (they have a another small building outside with 3 windows), then after getting your number... you will then proceed to the main building.
