It was ok in general but the line outside was not that organized, you just keep asking the guards which line is it because everyone of them is saying diff things. I waited an hour for my first interview with a young Filipino guy, done in 30mins, called again for biometrics after 15-20 mins. The final interview was around 9:20am with a black CO who is so formal, it only lasted for 10-15mins because he only need another cenomar and nbi with my wrongly spelled name in the birth cert. and before 10 am i was given an instruction to submit the additional docs and filled out the courier delivery address.

Was issued K1 visa on May 16,2011 a week after being reviewed by the same CO!

Review Topic: K1 Visa

First of all, they should have a proper pedestrian crossing in front of that portion of the consulate where the visa applicants assemble. I saw a whole family of applicants nearly got run over by a speeding car in pre-rush hour Roxas Boulevard. My humor being somewhat black, I actually got a little chuckle out of it. A telling anecdote to what lengths many Pinoys will go for the American dream, risking life and limb.

They also should rein in those touts who go around soliciting business by giving warnings about what are not allowed in the embassy compound. They actually perform a service to a few who didn't bother to check that part of the interview guidelines beforehand but the aggressiveness is a little irritating. They also seem to have this idea that the K-1 visa applicants are the most clueless of the lot. I actually heard someone use the word "inday," which I understand is also a local term for the household help.

I have no basis to compare the... read complete review

i hope this review will help fellow Filipinas who are having their K1 visa interview here in Japan.

first off, i would like to mention about what i did after receiving NOA2. my fiance, called NVC about a week after receiving NOA2 in the e-mail to find out if our case is forwarded. you can search visajourney on how to track your case through DHL. please take note that there is no guarantee that the package actually includes your packet/case but it is a good way to estimate when the packet will arrive the embassy.

the NBI clearance takes about 2 days to do, however that depends if you are doing a renewal and you have your original personal copy. if you do not have the copy, i suggest you apply for the clearance as soon as you get the NOA2. you have to go to the Philippine Embassy for the fingerprinting and get it on the same day if you pay for express, then send the form to your family/relative back home in the Philippines so they can apply in your behalf. r... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My husband and I headed off to the Embassy from the Hotel looking like zombies in need of hibernation.

As many other reviewers have mentioned, the groups were divided into their specific category, 6 AM we march in. Immigrant visa applicants will have to line up at the ticket booth for their numbers. Got ours, instructed to drop off the interview schedule at Window 39 (not window 38, as opposed to what others were told by the booth lady) and waited for the Biometrics at Window 40.

After that, we took our seat and waited for the next step: Pre-screening. I'm very happy that the pre-screener was accommodating and friendly. I made 3 AOS to be safe and he said it's better to have 2 extras than all 3 forms wrong. He asked me basic questions like where and when my hubby and I met, how long he has been here, what's his current work, etc. After that, he said it's best if I gave him the AOS from my in-laws even if my husband's assignment covered for the both of us... read complete review
