My fiance arrived early (by Filipino standards). The first person she dealt with was somewhat rude (another Filipino). The second reviewer told her we submitted the largest Fiance Visa packet he had ever seen, and that we definitely have a valid relationship and "congratulations", "we're approved".
Don't bring a phone to the embassy.
Pretty simple.

We did IR-1 and IR-2 visas.
It was a long process, but in the end it was very easy.
We weren't sure where to stay, then after a suggestion to stay at Boulevard Mansion, we chose there. Location. location, location! It wasn't the greatest hotel, but the price and location were excellant. We walked out of the hotel then almost directly onto the walkway bridge across Roxas Blvd. - the embassy starts lining up at the bottom of the stairs!
Interview was at 6:30AM, so we got there about 5:15 or 5:30. There were a lot of people lined up and lots of "vendors" selling their wares - we had a woman insisting that we needed 4 photos or we would be turned away. lol
When we entered, my wife had to go back out because she brought a musical card which was not allowed until the metal part was removed. Then we got our number and lined-up to get inside to wait for the fingerprinting which took the longest.
The first interview ... read complete review

Arrived at embassy at 4am where there were already around 20 people in the K1 line ahead of us. Actually got into the embassy around 7am where everything moved relatively fast and orderly. Went to 5 different windows. First window was to drop our first set of documents off for review, second window was for finger printing, 3rd window was for pre-interview, 4th window was final interview with US consulate where we were told we were approved, last window was to confirm any final instructions. Everyone was really friendly, including the consulate and it was a great experience.

Very easy to do but we hired an Agency. An American and his wife have been assisting with DCF since 1999. Very fast and easy to do. The Embassy has also been helpful. javascript:emoticon(' ')
