Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

We got the CR-1 Visa approved! Total time from filing I-130 to approval, 2 months and 15 days!!! I was shocked at how simple it was at the US Embassy, Manila. We arrived at 330am for the 630am appointment. We arrived so early as we drove my motorcycle from Tanay, Rizal, all the way to Manila and wanted an extra cushion of time in case we had a flat or engine trouble. Already there was a large crowd. The lines were grouped by appointment times and visa categories outside the property at the base of the foot bridge. Once we got inside the embassy at 630, we waited 45 mins for Rona, my wife, to get fingerprinted at window 43. Total time at window 43, 3 minutes. they're very systematic, meaning if your schedule is 7:30am then go there an hour early and not as early as 3am coz even you're that early those who have 6:30am schedule still have to go first before you. at first i thought it was the scariest moment of this visa journey but i was wrong. it was just like an ordinary conversation by 2 people meeting for first time and asking simple questions related to me and my fiance. and i would say because of visajourney that i was able to pull it off like a normal conversation because i went there prepared. even though the US Consul was slang i was able to understand her because her questions i had found it and heard it first here and was able to practise here. and its also because of my fiance whose always there to keep reminding me to relax. and oh well the best advise i have heard about visa application was on USEM advert. "No Secret" no secret formula in getting the visa but just tell the truth and be yourself.
