Review Topic: K1 Visa

We are not sure if we got approved on June 17,2014. We proved to them that our love is genuine.. We were just lacking two police clearances...which they have now had for about two weeks. We are wondering when we can expect our visa in hand.. We wanna get married, hopefully before Bestie's classes start on August 20... Any help would greatly be appreciated! Thank you! God bless!

The interview was easy as long has you have all the required documents such as NSO Birth Certificate, CENOMAR, Affidavit of support (I-134), latest w2 & income tax of fiance (us citizen), proof of relationship & updated NBI.

I arrived at the US embassy exactly 5:30am (sept21), there are 4 lines outside of the embassy for different appointment time. Outside, there're few vendors of umbrella, ballpen & those who will offer to hold your cellphone & other things which are not allowed to bring inside the embassy, which you have to pay for P300.00. (So just dont bring your cellphone & others if you dont have someone with you, who can wait outside).

My schedule is 7:30am,we went straight inside by 7:15am give the appointment letter, DS160 and passport, they put a barcode on my passport & put inside the plastic & gave me a number stub. Went to the door #2, I give my appointment letter again and wait for my number to appear on the screen.

After 30m... read complete review

Well...Gina is approved. But, got a 221 due to the delay in the police clearance from Hong Kong. Just found out that it was sent on 7/9 and it was sent by registered mail! What???? Are you kidding? Knowing how messed up the mail system is the PI you'd think that Hong Kong would send the info by packet or some other service...certainly not through the mail - especially in the PI!!! It could take months for the mail to be delivered there!! So, we just wait. Somewhat anti-climactic! Hard to make plans while waiting on others to do their job.

Gina was asked very few questions...when did you meet, when did you get married...very basic stuff. They asked for the usual docs that will be included in the envelope that she'll bring with her to the US...BC, CENOMAR, Marriage Cert, etc.

Anyway...soon, she'll be on a plane and we'll be together, at last!

It's quite a process, to be sure. And it ain't over, yet!!!
