Review Topic: K1 Visa

I'm writing this based on information from my fiancée's interview. Interview date was 23 Dec 2014. Her first interviewer was the "Chinese" guy as everyone refers to him. Just basic questions about me, my salary, family, are you sure you're not married. He asked for additional pictures and the affidavit of support. He insisted that she needed my W2's but I had supplied my employment docs and tax transcripts. Her second interview was fairly easy, just a follow-up of the first questions but he confirmed the W2's were not necessary. The only missing piece of information was the documentation from the Singapore Marriage Registry that no record is found, which we just overlooked. It was way too easy to acquire and we were kicking ourselves that we didn't already have it. It really only resulted in about a 1.5 - 2 week delay but it was a pain. On 5 Jan the status on CEAC finally updated to show Issued. We're just waiting for Aramex to deliver the packet with the visa to my fiancée.

My fiancee was only asked five questions, 1. Who petitioned you? 2.How many times was the U.S. petitioner married and divorced? 3. What type of job does the U.S. petitioner have? 4. How did we meet? 5. Where does the petitioner live? The consular officer never asked to see any supporting evidence or the DI-134,W2s, paycheck stubs, tax return copies, or bank statements.

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Hey guys!!

I just want to share my K1 visa interview. It was on 12/23/2014 at 730am. I arrived at USEM at 5:50am and got in the embassy at 6:04am. My lucky number was 6018.

There were a few people, prolly because it's the holiday season. First window was for finger scanning (my number was called after 10 mins of waiting). Then after 2 mins, a Filipino consul called my number to ask me basic information, Like my fiance's full name, how did we meet and if we have a child. He also got my birth cert, certificate of no marriage and NBI. After about 30mins, I was called to fall in line for the oath taking and waited another 30mins for the interview with the US Consul. I was really lucky because the consul was really nice. She only asked me a few questions, full name of my Fiance, how did we meet, for how long do we know each other, how long is our relationship, what does he do for a living, how old is our kid and what did we do in Macau. Aft... read complete review
