I had my fiance stay at Casa Bocobo for his 8 day stay at manila for medical and interview purposes (He came from the province of Davao del sur and had no relatives living close to USEM). He said the place was really nice and so were the staff. Location was not too fat from SLEC and USEM.

My fiance had his medical exam on a friday and results were not until monday the next week (it was longest weekend ever! lol) Fortunate enough, he passed medical.

His interview was scheduled at friday the same week. After his medical, we had somewhat 3 days available to check our documents and answer questions, that is, questions I searched over VJ website and on the internet for possible embassy questions. I would ask over the questions to my fiance every night after work so that he may practice answering the questions and would be able to respond best. I had sent to him all the nescessary documents needed to show of financial capability such as income tax inf... read complete review

Got there at 6:30 am for our 7:30 appointment. We got inside the embassy after 45mins and got our lucky number.

Waited a bit more for step 1: f/p and biometrics.

Step 2 was the filipino co. Submitted documents (nso birth cert, cenomar, nbi clearance, medical results, i134, 1040 w2) We were asked a few questions regarding the timeline of our relationship.

Step 3 was oath taking. Waited a very long time since orange girls forgot about our batch and we were the last few people who took the oath.

Step 4 final interview. Co was very nice. Only asked a couple questions (Our names and petitioners job).

Step 5 releasing, was just told that papers are complete and just wait for the visa to be delivered.

Finished by 10:30 am.

My appointment was 6:30 AM on May 8, 2015. I arrived at around 5:00 AM, and there were already so many people waiting. We were made to fall in line, so we can go inside the Consular Building or whatever it's called at around 7:30 AM.

I gave my DS-160, passport, and Appointment Confirmation Letter. Inside, I was given a number. Then, I proceeded to the fingerprinting section at about 9 AM. The pre-screening interview was okay. The Filipino consul didn't ask a lot of questions. Then, I waited for like an hour and a half for the Oath Taking. Another 15-minute wait for the Final Interview.

The American Consul was very nice. He didn't ask for my Affidavit of Support, and he just looked at our pictures. My fiancee and I were going to use a co-sponsor because his income didn't reach the poverty guideline. The consul told me that it wasn't a big deal because it's a K1 visa. We got approved!

I am not sure how helpful I will be. I can only give a review based on what my fiancee told me. She stated that the staff at the embassy were really nice and helpful. They really made you feel at ease. She stated that it was a long drawn out process that required a lot of waiting. According to her it doesn't matter if you arrived really early as they only select you at random for interview, for example, if your appointment is at 730, you could be called anytime from 730 onward. She officially had her interview around 11 am for a 730 am appointment. The first interview went well and was asked many questions by the Filipino consular officer-document overview. Then after many steps she finally made it to the American consular officer. She stated she was only asked 3 questions - what does your fiance do for a living, what sports does he like to do in his off time, and how we met. When the officer told her she was approved, he turned to her and asked, I see you are part of a religious organ... read complete review
