Final interview Manila Philippines May 27 2025 6:30AM
I left the hotel at 5:20 am. The embassy was a few minutes walk. I sat outside about 30 minutes then they opened the door at 6am. I went inside. I prepared the DS 160 with my passport. Passport was stamped. Once inside we were security screened. I then sat and organized documents. Passport, DS 160 PSA, cenomer, 2x2 passport pictures, Payment receipt, appointment letter, medical envelope. Police clearance from OFW and Philippines police clearance. We waited 5 minutes then lined up at window 61 for pre screening. It was a Filipino. He had me give the documents I already prepared.
He asked my name.
My Fiancé’s name

Show me the divorce decree. He looked it over many many times and questioned if it was original. He kept asking then took it inside. It was like they were looking at a fake dollar.

Took just over 2 hours. Pre-interview Filipino clerk didn't like that the approved packet has photocopies of divorce decree instead of "dry seal" (this misname for embossed seal) certified copies. Interview with American officer was very short and pleasant.

End result was that we were approved but would not be processed until we sent the consulate an LBC with her passport, a form and the certified decree copy. It cost 140 to get an international FedEx send them 480 peso for the LBC. Annoying but it's done, just a little over a week delay to our plans. Good thing we left a 3 week buffer from the interview date when booking travel.

Hello,
The case for my fiancée’s petition was forwarded to Abu Dhabi
However, she lives in the Philippines. Has anyone had this happen?
We are trying to transfer the case to Manila but was told it will take several months.
Thank you

Somewhat dissatisfied with the interviewer. Person was so serious. Didn’t let the person feel at ease.

Filipino consular officer window 60. Very rude and not friendly at all. Did not greet nor exchange pleasantries, unlike the other friendly consulates. Doesn't understand how to apply assets that are 3 times the difference between the poverty level and income shortfall as described by policy/ Issued 221g for sponsor, even though assets are 50 time the difference between the poverty level and income shortfall.
