UPDATE: As of September 26, 2020, we are still in a holding pattern. The consular officer told my fiancee at her February 4th interview that all they needed was a copy of her mother and father's marriage certificate and passport, and that she should receive them back in about a week from receipt at the Embassy. We never did hear anything back. Then the Covid shutdown came in the middle of March. Finally on July 2nd, came back a simple denial of the visa, with no explanation. We were both a little stunned because there's nothing in either of our backgrounds to justify this response. No health issues. No criminal background. No additional marriages, etc.
I learned that the Embassy kicks all paperwork back to one of the service centers for a final review, and that the service center can either confirm the embassy's decision or overturn their refusal, and approve my fiancee. She arrived at the embassay.
We booked a hotel so close you can see the people geting in line.
Her and her father arrived at 4:00 a.m. - 4:30 a.m.
She was interviewed by a Filpino Immigration side and the US immigration.
I had 3 dependants at the time and were concerend about my income and was issued a 221G.
This delayed our application.
