UPDATE: As of September 26, 2020, we are still in a holding pattern. The consular officer told my fiancee at her February 4th interview that all they needed was a copy of her mother and father's marriage certificate and passport, and that she should receive them back in about a week from receipt at the Embassy. We never did hear anything back. Then the Covid shutdown came in the middle of March. Finally on July 2nd, came back a simple denial of the visa, with no explanation. We were both a little stunned because there's nothing in either of our backgrounds to justify this response. No health issues. No criminal background. No additional marriages, etc.
I learned that the Embassy kicks all paperwork back to one of the service centers for a final review, and that the service center can either confirm the embassy's decision or overturn their refusal, and approve my fiancee. Is he the father of your child?
He returned our 2x2 photos and my baptismal certificate
