Review Topic: K1 Visa

K1/K2 visas.
Both k1/k2 attended. Appointment at 2 pm. We arrived 15 minutes earlier. The embassy was empty of other applicants at that time, so they made us enter the building right away. The interview had 2 parts: in the first interview the CO had a check list with all documents to be requested: asked in this order: (in spanish)
1- Passports
2- DS-160 Confirmation pages
3- Evidence of visa fee payments (bank receits)
4- 2 Photos each (please have them cropped in 2x2 inches, ours came in a pair)
5- Birth Certificates
6- Police Certificate
7- Marriage Certificate from previous marriage and divorce decree
8- Photos of fiance and I together
9- i-134 Affidavit of Support (copy) and supporting evidence (bank statement, tax returns, employment letter)
10- Medical exams in sealed envelopes

The CO was asking questions in between asking for the documents: My daughter was only asked how old is she and ... read complete review

Generally friendly, but had to return several times because the affidavit of support was not an original and then again because I answered incorrectly one of the questions that did not apply to the visa type (about specific supports).

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

The interview was super easy. We arrived a bit early for our 2:45 interview. We went into the embassy and waited for about 20 minutes. First, they called Victor up to hand in his passport and medical results. About ten minutes later, they called him up again. I went with him. The interview lasted about 10 minutes. They took his fingerprints and had him sign the ds-230 form. Then, they asked the following questions: How did you meet? Where do you (Victor) work? How many times have you (Victor) been to the US? Do you like your wife's family? When did you (Stacia) come to Paraguay? Have you (Stacia) been in Paraguay the whole time since you came in 2006? What are your plans for when you go to the US? Then, he told us the visa was approved and we could pick it up the next day.

We arrived at the Embassy at 1:45pm for my husband's interview at 2:30pm. There were about 20 other people waiting outside. We should the guard the interview letter and he seemed confused and told us to sit and wait while he called inside. At 2:15 we were let in through security and entered the interview area where another 20 or so people were waiting. At 2:20, Elvio was called up to the window to hand in his medical results, passport and 1 passport-sized photo. He was not asked for my 2011 tax forms. He sat back down and we waited again. At 3:45 he was finally called back up for the interview. I went up to the window with him. The interviewer took him fingerprints then asked the following questions:
-How did you meet your wife?
-When did you get married?
-Where will you live in the US?
-[holding one of the photos I sent in with the I-130] Identify the people in this photo.
-Where did you go for your honeymoon?

He then asked me about my... read complete review
