My fiance was interviewed by a woman officer. She said she was very nice and polite. She asked him some questions that included: How did we meet, What are the names of my adult children, What countries had he visited, and Where did I work, to name a few. She also spoke to him in English. When he didn't understand her, she asked how we communicated and he replied that we both have been learning each other's languages. Because he had been to Venezuela on a diplomatic passport for university, she questioned why he wasn't made to gain residency in Venezuela. He had provided all the evidence he could. She said she intended to approve his request but needed to verify his time in Venezuela first. This took 3-4 days. He was first placed in the 'refused' status on the CEAC website. On May 27, 2025, it changed to 'approved'. On May 28, it changed to 'issued'. I'm sure his passport will be ready either May 29 or 30 because sending there has been fairly quick with others this year. His appointment time was at 7 am however, everyone who was interviewed that day was scheduled at that time. He was one of the first to be interviewed.

They did have a document review a week before his initial interview which was supposed to be April 29. This is when they requested evidence of why he didn't have a police certificate from the time he went to university in Venezuela. They forced him to reschedule his interview date only after they reviewed his evidence a week later. At the second document review, they accepted all of his documents and scheduled another visa interview.
