Long post alert!
Overall stressful experience. I knew the wait was going to be long, but I still managed to grossly underestimate the strain involved.
Arrived at the embassy at 5:30am in time for my 7am appointment. We were divided into immigrant and non-immigrant queues and had to go through possibly a million security checks, which ended with a Nigerian lady taking our finger prints. Then commenced the wait. Look around when you arrive. If there are lots of elderly people around, then bad news for you because they’ll attend to them first irrespective of when they arrived. This is reasonable, but can’t deny that it’s tiring standing for so long. For the interview proper, there were 2 CO’s initially - a black American male and a Caucasian male. The black dude seemed more brutal cos he denied 2 of the first 4 interviewees he encountered. Crazy. Once I’d waited for so long, and my number still seemed far away, I went to the bathroom to wai... read complete review

Went through the normal protocols of security. Then went inside the embassy and waited for probably 5-6 hours? My appointment was 6:30. 2 COs were interviewing us immigrants. One was a white and the other was an Asian. The Asian guy already denied 2 people due to them not knowing their fiancés well. 2 were told to bring additional documents. The non- immigrants interviews were done and I could say only 6 people were given. About 10 minutes, I could see the Asian guy checking my file. Called my number and interview goes thus;
Who is petitioning for you.
When did you meet.
Where did you meet.
How did you meet.
Was she previously married?
What date was her divorce?
How many kids?
How long has she been at her current job?
Does she stay in a house or apartment?
How much is her monthly salary?
How old is she?
How old am I?
How old are her kids?
How many times she visited me?

went through security checks and long queues which wasn't unexpected. i/o was pleasant. Asked my fiance's name, job, address. Then a little bit of how we met and our experience together, she wanted me to tell the short story along with some pictures that i have on me by explaining what we were doing including time and place. I labelled every single picture with dates, names of the places and the reason for the occasion. She smiled through it all, said I was approved and should be able to pick up visa after final checks in a few days.

My interview Review
My interview was for 7:00 am got there around 5:30 am, which I thought is super early but I met almost 100 people already waiting. Around 6-6:30 we were divided into immigrants and non-immigrants queue and they asked us to open our medical but don't take it out. They asked that 6:30 am appointment to queue first then 7 am. We went inside, had about 5 security checks in total for the whole interview but different stages. We got to a table, my appointment letter was checked, a number written on it, a paper was attached to the back of my passport and a slip was given to be filled later. We were directed from there to another building just across. We got to another security check, took out our watches, belts, and shoes then went through a scanner. From there we were directed to the main building. I was called to a window, he requested for my documents, so I gave him my passport, appointment confirmation, medical, police report, DS 160, original birth cert... read complete review

My interview was for 7:00am, got there 5:30am, super early, but there was already a crowd there, we all stood there waiting. At about 6:30 we were searched and divided into immigrant and non immigrant queue, here we were asked to open up all envelopes, medical included. We went inside, had two more security checks. We got to a table, my appointment letter was checked, a number written on it, a paper was attached to the back of my passport and a slip was given to be filled later. We were directed from there to another building just across. We got to another security check, took out our watches, belts and shoes, went through a scanner, just like in airports. From there we were directed to the main building. I filled the slip and was called to a window, my passport was collected, appointment confirmation, medical and police report, DS 160, original birth certificate and photocopy, tax, w2, affidavit of support and the slip were collected too. Appointment confirmation and original birth cer... read complete review
