We prayed on the phone around 5AM(9ja time), and off he went. He sent me a BB msg around 5:20AM that he was there already, at 6 he left the car, leaving his phone, so I knew I would just be on my bed, thanking God. He said when he got towards the gate, there was already a crowd. He joined the immigrant visa line which he already knew because in 2010, I invited him for my graduation(he was not approved). The security guard asked them to open the medical envelop( he was pissed about this because he wanted to open it ever since he got the envelop and i kept insisting it has to remain sealed). They were handed a slip they needed to fill out(he said good thing he had pen as I had insisted because pen became a big deal, he gave one to the next guy) He then went through security, went to make the payment. After which he was asked to drop off the packet 3 forms, and affidavit of support and supporting document. He was initially stopped because they told him he didn't have enough passport photo,... read complete review

Thank you God for being merciful on thais K1 journey, despite red flags like our 16 year age difference, me the female USC being older. Only two visits to Nigeria (stayed less than 4 days each time)each visit 3 months apart, not having seen my fiance for 16 months since my last visit, only five pictures togather, I never meet his family, spoke to few of them. He has no kids I have one todler. I have been divorced 2 times he has never been married. With visa Visa Journey's help we were always overly prepared. I did however make sure that we had all documents needed and tons of call logs of yahoo messenger etc. Box shipped for him to take to embassy was 13 lbs of paper work. Thanks to all VJ members who shared their expericnces to help us prepare.
K1 interview on Friday 09/21.
Fiance got to emabassy about 5:40AM. He was amazed at how big the crowd was and wondered how they would interview that many people that day. About 6 AM an office announced things tha... read complete review

US embassy in Abuja and International airport in Abuja reject EAP/AD card. I was refused boarding an airplane to return to US using my unexpired combo card. The embassy here insists it is not a travel document and that I need to go and get a visa. If you are planning on travelling with this card to Nigeria, please be cautious.

Rarely do we post on VJ but we've both gained so much knowledge (some good, some not-so-good) that we'd like to do our part to contribute to the VJ knowledge about the CR1 interview process, particularly dealing with Lagos. It's about giving back to the wealth of knowledge that we all benefit from. To anyone that is new to the forum, our general advice to:
1. Remember every case is different so do what you feel is best for you.
2. There are some people that will tell you information matter-of-factly when you have to remember that was their experience and/or opinion. (This also goes for our post below.)
3. God is the author and finisher of all things. Pray for favor.
What those things being said, the biggest myth that we were told on VJ was that you can't add information at the NVC stage. We barely sent any information to USCIS (no photos, phone records, etc.) and were approved very quickly (though USCIS). At the NVC stage, we sent a photobook (i.e.,... read complete review
