First of all I want to give all praise and adoration to God because without him we would not have made it on this journey. Secondly I want to thank all of the help and advice that my husband and I received here on VJ, thank you so much. Okay so without further hesitation let me get to our review!

My husband lives in Ibadan and so we left for Lagos on Wed 4/15/13 at about 4pm to be in Lagos for our 4/16/13 7 am appointment. We arrived in Lagos 4 hours later, got a room and logged for the night. We planned to wake up early in the morning so we wouldn't be stuck in traffic. My husband had the alarm set for 3 am. Well he and I both were woke before then I laid in the bed while he prayed and read his Bible. Then he got up to take his shower and I prayed and listened to worship music. There was such a peace in my heart and I was not doubtful at all. After he came out the shower, I took mine and then we prayed together. We were no longer asking God to do anything but instead t... read complete review

DCF Guangzhou Experience
Monday March 11, 2013
Appt time:12:30
Arrived for the line around 11:15, already over 100 people in line, there were 2 or more lines, as mentioned in prior posts, we had to ask which one was immigration, but found the correct one.
12:15 they started checking the appt letter and passports, handing people green/blue/black cards to proceed upstairs to the security check. I followed up to the first check, mainly because I was curious, but ducked out of line before the next one. First check is just basic screen, second check on the next floor is the full check with removal of belt, shoes, etc.
Document hand in was relatively easy, the girl at the counter didn’t really ask for the documents because my husband just kept handing her one document after the other. She did however ask my husband questions about the documents such as, oh I see you have a co-signer and the wife, what is her name (he answered), where did you meet your w... read complete review

I got to the embassy by 6.45 am for my 10:00a.m interview; I had a pull behind bag with loads of evidence in it. When I approached the gate I was told by security that I will not be allowed to go in with the box, so they asked me to remove all the documents in the box and carry them in my hand, then they showed me to one alhaji whom I paid 400naira to kip my bag, phone and other stuff, I realized most people had very few documents with them and they all kept looking at me funny and some of them were even laughing at me and passing silly comments, I just didn’t answer them but kept wondering how I would carry two big albums plus so many other documents like emails and phone records. Fortunately for me(this was God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit at work) I had dis nylon bag dat I bought on my way from my medicals last week to put my xray in and take it home, what I did when I got home was remove the xray from the nylon bag, leave it at home and then I folded the nylon and put ... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

My fiance's visa was approved today, and I owe all the thanks to Jesus! We worked really hard to put all the documents together, gathered as much evidence as we could, and were lucky to have a dependable family member to be the co sponsor for the affidavit of support. But being that we were going through Lagos embassy and considering the unfortunate circumstances of other VJ members, I was always worried that the CO would be too picky. I thank God that everything went smoothly. One thing I have read on VJ and that I believe is true is that it seems the CO has already decided if he or she would approve the visa even before the interview. As such, one of the things that made me nervous is that I did not front load my petition to USCIS and I read many posts about how front loading makes the interview much easier. I followed the VJ guideline for filing the petition, which did not advice that people going through tough embassies like Lagos should front load. Thankfully, front loading didn't... read complete review
