Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

hello,
i just wanted to share my experience with you guys.
i had my CR1 visa interview on april 9th at the consulate in the netherlands, amsterdam.

the important thing is to go on time but dont go too early because they will not let you go inside.
after you show your passport to one of the guards through the window , you may enter the consulate.
they will control your cellphone, your bags and pockets.
bags are not allowed to go inside, your not even allowed to go inside with a bottle of water.

after going inside you will have to show the requier documents to a really nice lady and after she approved those documents you are allowed to go to the first window where you need to give the original documents and photos to the next person.

dont forgert to REGISTER, otherwise you will need to do that after you get home or after your interview.

after giving the 2nd lady all of the original doc... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

On January 29, 2019 I had my visa interview for an IR-1 visa in the US Consulate in Amsterdam.

I had my interview at 2 pm and arrived around 1.45. I first had to give my DS-260 to a lady that was sitting in front of the interview windows. She collected my DS-260 and passport pictures. After that I had to wait to be called to the first window. While waiting I discovered I forgot the printed pictures of me and my wife in the car that I had parked at a P+R at the Rai. I was afraid this was going to be a problem. But I had my phone with me where I had lots of pictures on. Then I got called to the first window. I had to give our marriage certificate + translation and my birth certificate. Because we are already married for more than 3 years the man in front of the window told me I would be receiving an IR-1 visa instead a CR-1 visa. Once I receive my green card it will be valid for 10 years instead of 2 years. After he checked all the papers I had to do some finger printing a... read complete review

Approved yaay! The people at the consulate were very friendly. The interviewer asked me quite a few questions, about how our relationship started and progressed, if I met his family, our plans in the US and our age difference. He was trying to get a complete story after reading up on our file before the interview. I saw he or his colleague had made some notes of questions to ask. All in all I only spent 40 minutes inside, of which about 25 at the windows (first just some paperwork, secondly the interview). Good luck everyone!

I had my interview in April 2018 and everything went very smooth. Don't go too early, since they won't let you in. I was there 15 minutes before my appointment and that's the right time to be there. Went through security, got the necessary labels for my interview, gave all the required documents (background check, financial papers etc) to a lady at one window (she'll tell you exactly what she needs). After that I sat down for about 3-5 minutes and then I got called to the window for my interview. You just stand in front of a window, answering the questions. I was the only one together with 1 other girl, so my interview was exactly at the time I planned it. The man who did my interview was nice but strict (they need to be). Just simple questions about if I met his family, how we met, what kind of work he did etc. When we were done he told me I was approved and he was very nice, just chatting about 90 days to wed. 1:15 pm in, 1:40 pm outside, approved :-) Interview took about 10 minutes.
