Review Topic: K1 Visa

Asked about 10 questions about my finance in Nepali .. Went very smooth however, my birth certificate had a glitch with Mom's name. The CO didn't mentioned approved, however advised me to correct the BC and submit at the drop-off location including my passport. I asked how soon can I drop it off and he said smiling ASAP, We will try to process your visa very promptly. I dropped off the passport and the corrected BC within next hour. I was optimistic about the visa yet worried at the same time. The next day it went Administrative Processing (IV) then to Ready and on Jan 15th it changed to Administrative Processing under NON-Immigrant . On 16th it changed to Issued.

Overall it was good experience. The CO was Very courteous. He tried his best to take my interview in Nepali. I couldn't understand some question as sometimes he tends to question based on my previous answers with broken Nepali . I had to correct him sometimes . <... read complete review

My interview was scheduled at 9:45 but I came went in early at 8:30. I asked the security guard if it was too early, he looked at my confirmation and he let me in.

I made my way to the security check. All the security personnel were helpful and friendly. They were very nice. I then entered the second door . There were two Nepali employee one guy and a girl. Once I told them that i came for interview the lady gave me a number and the guy asked me pull out all my documents. While pulling the document my number was called in one of the window. I went to the window and there was a Nepali guy behind the window. He was very rude. Asked to pull documents with code. example. take 130 out , ds160 confirmation and all. He was screaming at me. saying you don't know that much as if I am always applying for visa and know all the form. he looked at the affidavit form and said your form is not complete you are missing document. While i was submitting other document he said did I ask... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

It took about a total of three hours for the entire consular process. My mother-in-law and I waited outside across the street for my husband while he gave his fingerprints, our documents, and spoke to one of the immigration officers. The length of the time was probably due to the amount of people scheduled for interviews either that day or simply as a regular occurrence. My husband was asked about our marriage, how we met, how are marriage went, if our families approve. The officer was very stern, straight to the point, not very gregarious if you know what I mean - but he approved us. It took about 3 days to get called to pick up his temporary visa. All in all, everything was a success, just took a lot of time and patience (the theme of our visa journey in general, lol).
