This was a hot and crowded place. It was a hurry up and wait for the next room or next window. I went with my husband and was at his interview. He overstayed his permission to be here by 6 months so we filed the waiver at the time of the interview. They would not except the downloaded copy of the I-601 that I had filled out prior to our interview.  They gave us a new one at the consulate and we filled it out and submitted the hardship letters at the interview. We still had to wait 7 months before he got his welcome letter. I put everything collected in a 3 ring binder and to it with me on our interview. It is an easy way to keep everything organized and I had plenty of copies of everything.

We arrived on december 26. The next day at 6:00am we were ready for the medical exam. They had everything organized so they took my blood shown, then an chest x ray and at the end asked me some questions about my health, took my weight, heigh and a physical reviewing. At the end we paid and they told us to go in the afternoon to picked my results up. So we did it.
On december 28, he were at the consulate, 6:00 am and they let me got in -just me- so inside they have diferent areas were people is waiting so I just did all that they were telling me to do. Finally the interview, a very nice american woman received me and after a few questions, she said: congratulatios! yupi!!!!!! ...waited for my passport, reviewed it and ready

Received papers in mail saying open appt.
Flew to Ciudad Juarez Sept.25th he rode a bus and we met at La Playa hotel
Appt. only from 7am to 9pm. We got there late so we spent the night he went
the next day. They gave him another appt. paper for 3 that afternoon. He came
back said he had them. We were packed in 10 min. and headed for El paso. Spent 1hr at boarder for them to review all the papers. They stamped his passport to make it look kinda like mine and thats his temp. visa. We flew home and arrived in Tennesse sept.27th Thanking God for all his help and strenth.

You may be wondering why we waited a year to do the Interview. It's a long-short story in that the first time we went, the consulate took the whole week off for Thanksgiving. Luckily though, a year later we did get around to making a second consulate attempt. The interview went pretty well. My fiancee got her visa. javascript:emoticon('') She was quized on my parents and sibling's names, and how we first met. So that much was pretty simple. As everyone complains, the worst part is the waiting. My fiancee said that most of the people interviewing received visas. I think what earned us the visa, was that my fiance had never entered the US illegally. That and we had two financial sponsors (myself and my mom). I also loaded up my fiance's visa portfolio with vacation photos from our trip to, plane tickets, and other things. Whether they looked at it all, I can't say for sure.
Also, if you're the US fiance and don't look Mexican, be sure to take $500 ext... read complete review
