Nairobi embassy doesn't appear to be in the "Consulate" list but let me write a review anyway:

Arrived an hour before our appointment. Turns out it is first come first serve, not time based even though you have to schedule an appointment for a certain time. That was annoying because then we had to wait a long time. That was my only issue.

We had a lot of documentation (K1 + three K2s) so my fiance got a little confused by how I organized the documents into folders verse how they wanted things organized (which they tell you in the welcome email). So she asked for me to come into the embassy as a sort of translator (I had been waiting outside since my name was not on their appointment list), and a guard came and got me and brought me in. That was very nice for us.

The document review was first. A Kenyan looked over our documents and made sure we had everything. She did not ask for evidence of relationship. She did not ask for employer confirma... read complete review

My husband had his interview on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the Nairobi Consulate in Kenya.
My husband was well prepared for his interview. We practiced lots of questions and scenarios for our marriage in advanced. He dressed in business attire with a tie and carried all of his documents including photos in a folder. He arrived at 6;00 a.m. for his 9:00 a.m. appointment. It took him 1 hour to go through Security. Once inside the waiting area, he waited to be called to the window. When called, he sat down and was asked to produce his documents. The person checked off his items and then opened the portal to review the petitioner's (me) documents. I had one flag for a missing document (divorce certificate). He was told to have me upload the document to the portal. Then, send my husband an original copy and a certified copy of the divorce decree. Then, he would have a second interview to turn in the missing document. Finally, he received a sealed yellow envelope back with the U.S. E... read complete review

My fiance was provided a Refusal Letter on 03/15/2024 at the consulate in Nairobi that was very vague. He failed his medical exam due to an apparent use of Khat. It reads, "Your visa application has been refused under Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). For our case to be considered further by an officer, please submit all the requested documents in the specific manner requested below. Some may be sent via DHL while others will be uploaded through the CEAC portal (see instruction sheets provided)."

There is a handwritten X beside "Medical Examination from Migration Health Assessment Center. To book an appointment at IOM in Nairobi:" No further guidance was verbally given to him which left us confused.

We would through time discover that IOM would randomly contact him to appear for drug testing over the next 12 months. He had to pay for the exams. During that time the consulate returned his passport which confused us even ... read complete review
