Arrived at 8:30 for our 9:00 appointment, I accompanied the fiancee to the interview. We were in and out by 10:15.

Ultimately they only asked for a fraction of the documentation that we had brought; they only required the appointment confirmation, D160, I134, police record (sealed), health check and vaccination from Seibo Hospital, a copy of her Koseki-tohon (I forgot the translation but they had copies of the translation I sent from her I129 application).

When we were initially called to hand over our paperwork they called us back a few minutes later saying that we had not given them any papers for the I134, which made us very nervous as I had given them hard copies of tax documentation, bank statements, and employment records. The woman at the counter came back soon after saying they had found it.

A few minutes later they took her fingerprints at a separate counter, and then a third counter called her for the actual interview.

R had her interview in October, 2014. She said it was very smooth and they barely asked any questions. We received the visa in her hometown in Fukuoka a few days later.

Her exact words were 'Super easy'.

I am the petitioner, and my husband is the beneficiary. We came from Aomori the day before & had planned to make our "last" trip to Tokyo a bit of a vacation.

The interview was scheduled for 8:45am (12/1), but after hearing from a friend who had an interview for the student visa years before about how crowded it could get, we decided to make sure we were at the consulate an hour early. When we got there, people were just being let in. Security went smoothly. We entered the building & were given number 7. We were handed a clear plastic file & a small piece of paper, telling us what order to put our paperwork in.

& that is when I remembered - I had forgotten my husband's medical results! I had been so worried about our updated Affidavit of Support from our sponsor that the medical had completed been wiped from my mind. My husband was furious, and I wanted to break down and cry. We decided that we would let the first person we talked to know & see where it ... read complete review

I had my interview in Tokyo at December 1st. It's rain at that day , Im the first person arrived at embassy at 7am and my appointment at 08.45 . Finally when I can going inside they check my belongings, leave the umbrella outside and all going under x-ray, they also keep my cellphone.
And in the other building there is a women who give clear folder to keep the paperwork and when going inside the room another woman give the waiting number.
I got second number cause somebody running faster than me, but it doesnt matter cause even I got second number later my interview is slower than the other.
After they told me to put the birthcertf, passport, photo and Affidavit Of Support paperwork and letterpack plus in the clear folder , my number get called.
There is a big screen that show which number in which counter.
First I have to give my paperwork to the nice pretty lady in counter 3 and she asking how do I meet my husband and where is he, and then she ... read complete review
