We arrived at the embassy at 7am. There was a short line not very long. By 7:15 we made are way thru the door and over to the second building where the security officer instructed everyone to put their blue sheets on top and all of their evidence on bottom. After he gathered our papers he gave us our number. We took our seat and waited. Our wait time was very short. I say about 30-40 minutes at the most. Jerome and I spent this time talking and laughing. When our number was finally called we went to window #24. We were greeted by a nice CO of Jamaican descent. She asked if I was Tanicha. She then began to go thru the papers of our case that she had been given. She asked me when did I arrive as she went thru the evidence of our relationship. She pulled out a photo of my daughters and asked if they were my daughters and continued going thru the folder. After having Jerome sign a few forms she asked him to take a seat while she asked me some questions. She asked me basic questions such as... read complete review

Got there at 11:25am for my 11:30am interview and walked right in. The security gave me a little look because of my chapstick but he asked me to use it, was convinced it wasn't harmful and let me pass.

Went right down to the second door and to the desk where the guy asked if I had pictures and all my documents together. He gave me a number and sent me to section A. Waited about 10 minutes and got called to a window where a girl I used to go to school with put my papers together and took them from me. I had to pay the visa fee and take the reciept back to her and then went on to section B. Waited there for another 15 minutes and got finger printed and then sent to section C. Waited in section C for 2 hours and 30 minutes, then finally got called. Interview took all of 45 seconds. The CO was really nice and she sent me along my way with a pink slip to take to airpack express.

My only issue with the day was the long wait. I was there for approx 3 hours and on... read complete review

My fiances Visa was scheduled for 1pm on Tuesday, July 29th, 2008. We arrived at the embassy a little after noon, after the 4 hour trek from Montego Bay and joined a short line outside the door. Luckily we got a spot in the shade cause it was HOT!! We waited in that line for about a half an hour before they let us in. The first room you enter is security. There you put your things through a screener and you walk through a metal detector. Easy. Then we went out into an open air courtyard with benches where we only waited for about 10 minutes before we were called into the main building.

Once inside the building we arrived at what is like a reception desk. There the Officer checked our appointment letter and passport, gave us a pink slip to write his passport number on (to be used later), and gave us our number, U102, to wait with.

We then entered another room where there were rows of seats and a row of windows where the Officers sat behind glass. We sat dow... read complete review

Because of the BACKA’TIVE powers of the YARDIE thread here on VJ I had no worries about my interview at all. Matter a fact, we laughed the whole time we were waiting for the actually interview.

Here is how the interview went:
D and I got to the embassy at 6 am for our 730 appointment. There was a short line and a woman meeting cars asking if you needed passport photos or to leave your cell phone with her. She is a shorthaired blonde Jamaican very nice. We did leave an umbrella and phone with her.

The opened the doors at 7 am and made a speech about what you could and couldn’t bring in. We weren’t listening that closely because I couldn’t find D’s passport in our other documents. After hurriedly looking for it, it was in my wallet in my purse – Whew! They don’t let you in without it. Once inside I was yelled at by the older woman security guard for having bottled water in my purse. She asked me why I didn’t THINK to remove it when she told us outside. I told her I was sorry I didn’t hear you and she went on to say how did you not hear me, I said it right before NO LOTION! :crying: She finally let me in after making me drink so... read complete review
