I had a good experience. I arrived way too early and they told me to come back a half an hour before. I stood outside for a few minutes then got called inside. You are not allowed to take your cell phone or a huge bag with you past a certain point, so you will have to make arrangements to have someone keep them for you near the area. The embassy does not have anything to facilitate keeping bags or phones for you so you MUST plan for this.

I was in there for 50 minutes total and most of that was waiting. Submitting my documents took maybe 10 minutes and the interview was another 10 minutes. The questions were normal things anyone would know about their fiance. There is no need to study or freak out or panic as long as your relationship is genuine. The officers were friendly and approachable. There weren't a lot of people when I got there.

Review Topic: K1 Visa

My fiancé and I got lucky last week and was able to book 1 of the very few open available dates for k1 visa interviews in Jamaica. We emailed the embassy to make sure it was real and they said they opened a few dates and to book one expeditiously and so we did!
Interview time was 1:30pm Est. Arrived at 1:00 and I entered at 1:15pm. Went through security where I removed belt, watch, money and walked through scanner.
Walked up to the waiting area where chairs are spaces 6 feet apart (Embassy was empty!) so I went straight up to the 2nd security entrance where they took my appointment letter. On to the next door to the consular officers panel where a lady asked me for the beneficiary police record, birth cert., certificate of non impediment, 2 passport photos, then us sponsors w2, last tax returns and affidavit of support (unfortunately we filled out the wrong one-i864. The correct one is i134 which the agent informed me of. I was told to sit down again and waited for ano... read complete review

Petitioner appointment was 9/3/20 @8:40am. Spouse stated that some of his questions asked were
-When did we get married?
-How often do we talk?
-Questions about my employment/position
-How often I visited?
-The last time we saw each other and why I haven't been back? (COVID)
I did not accompany spouse to this interview.

Petitioner did not reference anything personal concerning the female who interview him as far as personality, tone or demeanor. He was handed several papers that he stated that she appeared to be typing in front of him. The typed notices referenced the 5 yr ban and the other notice identified him as substance abuser. He was also given a checklist with passport (?), Cayman Island and Jamaica police records and 2019 tax transcript to be returned. Police records were provided at NVC and on persons during interview.
