Interview appointment was at 8am. I arrived outside the embassy at around 7.45 and there was already a queue. They let people in two at a time, checked our passports and went through a security scanner. They locked my phone into a little locker and I was able to take my small handbag in with me along with my documents. I queued inside and gave my name to the Irish staff member behind the window. She told me to sit and wait for my name to be called. We were all called in order of how we arrived in. I was called again by the same staff member, asked to produce my passport, birth cert, police certificate, photographs, medical results and my fiancé’s financial I-134. After this I was asked to sit to be called for interview. The interviewer was so friendly and approachable, he asked to tell him about my fiancé, and when did we decide to get married. He approved me then and there. Overall it was an extremely positive experience, all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and ... read complete review

Obviously very happy with the outcome as my visa was approved on the day.

I had my interview on July 16th, 2019. I had previously read some reviews on the Embassy in Dublin so I knew what to expect but what I found was different to those I had read. Here is my experience - perhaps it will help someone else.

I arrived 45 minutes early and spoke to security officers at the gate - they asked that I come back 15 minutes before the interview time as the embassy was closed for lunch. I returned and joined a queue of people to the right of the gate. Here they take you in one by one, inspect your bag, empty water bottles, take your phone to put in the lockbox, and pass through a metal detector. They give you a lanyard with the key to the box.

From here I walked up the ramp to a door at the side of the building. Here I passed another detector. The officer there asked if I was here for a visa or an interview and what time. I was directed to join th... read complete review

The interview was very straight forward. Initially gave all my documents to someone to review and make sure I had everything I needed then waited about 15 minutes before being called up to the window for my interview. I was asked how we met, asked about where I intended to move to, what my fiance worked at and the interviewer looked over some photos.

Super straightforward. Don't bring electronics to the embassy - leave them at home. There are TINY lockers at security that will fit a phone. Bring duplicates of EVERYTHING. Bring a few different photos x 2 - the first set I provided didn't work for them, luckily my second option did (otherwise I would have had to leave and get them done again). My wait was not long. Questions were very straightforward. The hospital was delayed getting my medical records over to the Embassy due to bad weather (snow) - meant application went to Administrative Processing. Tracked progress on the website.
