I had my interview on 23 May 2013 at 12.30. I arrived at the embassy gate at 11.30, way too early. I had to wait for an hour until the guard let me and other applicants in. I showed to the guard my appointment email from the embassy, went thru the screening, not allowed to bring electronic devices, usb disc and food/drink, so they keep my handphones and usb. Then i went inside the consulate office found window 5 as instructed in the email. An Indonesian lady asked my passport and medical result first, i was confused because Dr Indrayati told me that the medical result will be sent directly to the embassy within 7 days maximum so I thought it was there already as my medical check up was done on 14 May. I just showed her the medical check up payment receipt and a note from the Doctor that I have a good health condition. The lady told me thats fine. Then she asked me to give the rest of the document, had me write down my fiance name at DS-156 form and sign it. Then i paid the visa fee at ... read complete review

Our appointment was on May 21, 2013 at 12:30 PM. We arrived at the embassy at 12:20 by Taxi and were able to go right in. I did bring the email stating that I could accompany Nanan into the interview.
We cleared security (left our phones at the hotel), and walked across the courtyard to the Visa department.
We sat in the first row directly in front of Window 5. When the lady opened up and asked for Immigrant Visas we walked up first. We handed her our package of paperwork prepared by my immigration lawyer in the US. She immediately unbundled the package and reorganized the paperwork. Once she was done, we stepped to Window 6 and paid our visa application fee $2,400,000 rupiah, then stat down again.
12:45 PM Nanan was called to Window 1 (small room with door). I asked the interviewer if I could join her and he said very friendly, “Sure”.
She took the oath to tell the truth, and scanned fingerprints. Then the Interviewer ask... read complete review

My K1 visa interview was scheduled April 23, 2013 at 12:30 pm. Came one hour early, showed the guard my appointment letter and waited outside. 30 minutes prior to the scheduled interview, it rained and they let us all in.
After they screened by belongings, I was ushered inside the compound and went in the consulate waiting area.
Here are the steps:
1. Wait in front of window 5 with all of your documents in order exactly as instructed on the checklist (packet 3)
2. Window 5 lady showed up, so I immediately got up and gave her my documents.
3. Paid $240 at window 6 (which is exactly next to window 5)
4. Make sure you have a copy of your birth cert, divorce decree (if any)
5. Signed DS forms that needed to be done with the presence of an officer.
6. Waited another 15 minutes before they called my name to enter window 1. This is actually a small room, where you'll find the IO behind a window.
7. Fingerprinting was done

We showed up 1 hour early to the consulate, not knowing what to expect. This was a bad idea, as we had to wait outside in a police barrack (as you are not allowed to stand and wait outside the doors). All of the consulate officers were very kind and cordial, and were helpful with any questions we had. After getting through security, we were led to a waiting room where the interview windows were. There were only about 6 other applicants for this interview time, so it eased the nerves and stress. Wisna was the only male applicant. We payed our fee, submitted our paperwork and waited to be called to the window. After about 20 minutes, he was called to be sworn in and interviewed. He was asked simple questions (in Indonesian!) about where he met me, how long he has known me, and where he plans on residing in the United States. The officer then told him that he needed to have an English Translation of his birth certificate, and gave a date for him to bring it back and pick up his visa. This... read complete review
