First of all, I have to admit it wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. Nothing to be afraid of if you have nothing to hide. Embassy staffs and officers were all nice.
I came on the front gate at 11.50 am, my scheduled was 12.30 pm. Told the lady guard what my purpose was, she told me to go back again at 12.15 pm. She appointed a place where to wait as long it isn't on the front gate. In this case it was a police station parking lot next to the Embassy building.
At 12.15 we were on queue and had a security check when we allowed to get into the main entrance. They kept all electronic devices including cell phone, power bank, earphone, charger.
At window 5 the lady asked for required documents. My interview turn was at 3.30 pm as there were 3 more interviews prior to mine. Officer took my oath, fingerprints and asked me things such as:
1. How did I meet my husband.
2. Explain the relationship afterwards.

This is my fiancee’s experience with the Embassy in Jakarta.
She arrived at the embassy 2 hours early and was told that she can only queue at the entrance about 30min prior to the scheduled interview time, so she had to walked around outside to kill time.
Once inside, she’s asked to go to Window 7 to turn in the I-134 and all supporting papers. They didn’t ask for the proof of ongoing relationship. Afterward she’s directed to Window 6 to pay the fee, which is only accepted in Rupiah or Credit Card, not US dollars.
Once the fee is paid, she waited about an hour for the interview.
During the interview, most of the questions focused on our first meeting (which was a family dinner). She’s asked on how she got to know me, why she was invited to my family dinner and what the dinner was for. Other questions are what I do for work, how many times we met, when was the last time she met me, and when i proposed to her. ... read complete review

It helped having my fiance there, but overall it was a very pleasant experience. Once done with the paperwork and fingerprinting, it was not too long to be called to the interview "room" (more like a closet). The interviewer was very pleasant & even though I was very nervous it all went very smooth. We did not have one document (Police Certificate of Clearance) & we knew it would delay the visa being issued. We were approved pending submitting the Clearance & the second trip back was even more pleasant than the first. The interviewer was very accommodating and even helped us make sure we got the passport back with the visa in it in time for our flight to the USA. Overall... I cannot imagine it being any more pleasant & easy to deal with any other embassy than it was here.
