We showed up 1 hour early to the consulate, not knowing what to expect. This was a bad idea, as we had to wait outside in a police barrack (as you are not allowed to stand and wait outside the doors). All of the consulate officers were very kind and cordial, and were helpful with any questions we had. After getting through security, we were led to a waiting room where the interview windows were. There were only about 6 other applicants for this interview time, so it eased the nerves and stress. Wisna was the only male applicant. We payed our fee, submitted our paperwork and waited to be called to the window. After about 20 minutes, he was called to be sworn in and interviewed. He was asked simple questions (in Indonesian!) about where he met me, how long he has known me, and where he plans on residing in the United States. The officer then told him that he needed to have an English Translation of his birth certificate, and gave a date for him to bring it back and pick up his visa. This... read complete review

Hi Vjers!
My visa interview went very well. Approximately 30 minutes for the whole process.
My husband and I got there around 12pm however, the guard wont let you in until 10 minutes before your appointment. (Please don't forget to email the embassy and notify them that your husband will accompany you during the interview. If not, they will not allow him in).
Went inside and I was the first one in for the immigrant visa (yay!) I would advise to sit in the first row, in front of locket 5. This is to assure that you can go first! The Indonesian lady immediately called all the Immigrant candidates to line up and submit all the original documents, and made you open your medical check up (just submit the results and keep the x-ray). Afterwards, she will give you a pamphlets regarding domestic violence for Immigrants for you to read while waiting to be called for the actual interview.
Waited for a couple of minutes and the CO calle... read complete review

Due to the recent religious unrest toward US Embassy in Jakarta, I arrived about two and half hours prior to my scheduled interview. I was just being cautious should there be another rallies or protests. Fortunately, there was none.
I showed my appointment email letter (Packet 4) to the security guards outside and they let me in about ten minutes early. The guards scanned my bag and provided a tray for my cellphone to be kept with them as they don’t allow any electronic equipment inside the Embassy. The Embassy personnel are very friendly and helpful. They assisted my way within the compound to Windows 5 (per appointment instruction).
We have read some negative assertion from other reviews about the Indonesian lady who manages Window 5. The fact is that she has very low tolerance for people who cannot follow instructions, specifically hers. You need to make sure before you go to your interview:
1. Your forms and documents must follow the... read complete review
