Our interview was June 8, 2015 at the U.S. Consulate in Mumbai, India. My husband and I attended the interview together, arriving at the Consulate at one hour prior to our scheduled 10:30 interview time. I am american and my husband is Indian.
When we first arrived I was surprised as to how many people were waiting around and inside, there must of been 300 people. We showed our interview appointment letter to one of the Indian security officers outside and were quickly escorted through to the immigrant interview office. Once we were cleared through security we were given a number and asked to wait. While waiting a nice Indian girl took our papers and put them in order. We were called to the first window and an Indian man took our papers and explained the rest of the process. He showed us a piece of paper and said that it was used to pay green cards fees before traveling to the U.S. and stated that we would only receive a this paper if we were approved. Once he had everyt... read complete review

DIRECT CONSULAR FILING:
USC wife (DG) and Indian National Husband (HP) married November 2012 in India.
DG moved to India to live with HP post marriage. Now it's 2015 and DG is pregnant and all of a sudden hell breaks loose. Now we MUST move back to US to deliver the baby. 3 months pregnant and this thought of moving comes to DG's mind on April 15th 2015 and so, our journey begins.
Collected all the paperwork in the world possible and DG schedules an appointment in New Delhi for May 5th 2015 to petition the I-130. Despite my numerous attempts to convince her that all these documents aren't needed, I lost to the preggo and I carried more documents than I could handle and flew to New Delhi.
Morning of May 5th, there was a huge line but since she is a USC, she showed her passport and we were let inside immediately through another line where we were the only ones.
We go through security and were asked to sit. About 3 minutes later, we were asked to... read complete review

Background & Concern:
I attended my Immigration Visa (IR1) Interview at the Embassy yesterday from 9am till 3pm.
After a long and thorough check by the Indian and US counselor officer. I was handed over a white letter (221-g) mentioning the Affadavit support from Co sponsor (I 864) & from co sponsor's spouse (I 864A) to be provided in order to reconsider for the Visa.
However, I had the I 864 from my spouse (petitioner) and her latest tax returns for 2014. But the Indian Counselor who reviewed the documents and arranged them in order returned the I864 & Tax papers (2014) from my spouse only kept the co-sponsors Tax papers & I-864 A...and told me that The I-864A needs to re-collected in original not a scan copy that i had provided...and submit to the VAC in order to get your visa...I said ok. He then forward the documents to the American counselor for final interview..She called me and checked the documents and and asked questions after questions..fi... read complete review
