Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

It was really great experience. My Interview just took an hour from start to finish. I had a chat with Consulate Office for merely 5 minutes before hearing the magic word "YOUR VISA IS APPROVED". My Interview was early in the morning but there were plenty of people scheduled on the same time. So my advise is to be at consulate like an hour before and you are going to wait in consulate after passing security. Overall I am satisfied with level of service at this consulate.

The interview was on Dec 18, when my wife appeared for that , they told her that she suppose to have finger print taken from another place. It was so confusing because nobody mentioned it in their reviews or information. She made an appointment from an agent over there for Sunday,Dec 20 for that and interview today on Dec 21. Interview went around five minutes and she got her visa approved. They did not give her any packet, but took her passport. Will she get her packet at the time she when picking up the visa?

Review Topic: K1 Visa

My fiance accompanied me to my K1 visa interview in Mumbai. We took a cab to the BKC at 6.30 from Powai where we are putting up at a friend's place. The ride took around 20 mins as the roads were empty and the fare was reasonable.

After reaching the gates of the Consulate we saw a huge line for visa interviews but when I approached the security officer about my interview he said we can go straight in as ours was immigrant visa. But the initial hiccup was they do not allow phones into the embassy and there is no place nearby where we can deposit our phones or belongings. We were walking around looking for places but at 7 am in the morning none of the shops or offices were open. We finally went inside BKC Trident and requested the reception staff if the could hold onto my phone while I took the interview. The staff was very helpful and held onto the phone for no charge.

Next, we proceeded into the building where there was security checks and then we were gu... read complete review

Despite of telling everything true, consular officer was not convinced. She has no intention to appRove my visa though that interview was just a formality.

Interview itself went very quick and we were out of the consulate within one hour.

All the immigrant visa applicants had 07:30 AM appointments and were made to line up in a separate small queue. My fiancé (petitioner) was allowed in but the cell phone had to be disposed off somewhere. (Also, no CDs except Mefical CD). Luckily, since we were lodged in the Nariman Point Trident, the BKC Trident, which is across the street, accepted our phone for safekeeping.

After security, you are assembled in a big hall and given ticket numbers. Staff goes around the Hall arranging the papers in correct order before your number is called out.

Individual token numbers are then called out and then the first interview with an Indian CO ensued. My fiancé was asked to take a seat. Basic routine questions were asked. My documents were accepted. (Except our 'proof of ongoing relationship' package, which he asked for me to hold on until the next interview). Th... read complete review
