Had interview today at Mumbai Consulate and both me and my daughter got the CR1/CR2 visa approval. Its such a relief. The interview lasted hardly five minutes but the wait was long - 2.5 hours after the documents were verified. Apparently people opting for local language as the language for interview are interviewed before those opting to be interview in English. I was asked about 4-5 questions while the consulate officer typed vigorously on her computer. My husband accompanied us to the consulate and the officer asked him to come and stand with us.  I wasn't asked to show any photos or any other document. The questions I was asked are:
1. How did you meet your husband?
2. When did you decide to get married?
3. How did the proposal happen?
4.What does he do for living in USA?
5. Are you working?
6. Does your husband's parents live in USA or in India?

I noticed that all other marriage based visa applicants came alone for the in... read complete review

My wife had her visa interview on May 16, 2017.

She was asked standard questions -
1. When did you get married?
2. When did you start talking to each other? How long did you know your husband before marriage?
3. When did you decide to get married? Is it arranged/love marriage?
4. How many people attended your wedding? Was asked to show the photos of the people attending the wedding. My wife showed the wedding album.
5. What does your husband do?
6. Do you work here? What do you work on? What you plan to do in USA?

After that they told her that she was approved. She was then handed out the paper where the details of the further process were mentioned. For e.g. how to collect passport, how to pay uscis fee, her rights etc...

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Overall okay experience. I’d say helpful people/officers but the procedures and execution is not upto the mark.
I’ll give you points to note at the end, please be carefully with those.

I had a slot of 8:30 AM. Reached at 8:00 AM and when I was in the queue, the guard told that bags and phones not allowed. Phone I knew, but bags not allowed!
I had to then run around to find some small stall who agreed to keep the phone for 50Rs and another stall who kept the bag for 50Rs.
My fiancé was visiting luckily, so he accompanied me inside, as he had his original passport.
Inside, we went through the scanner into an open area with rows of benches. There’s a washroom area, and a very small coffee bakery counter there.
There were 2 staff members making people sit in rows. I was a little doubtful of the seating arrangement so I went and asked her myself where should I sit. Luckily I told her I was there for k1 visa and sh... read complete review

Overall a very good experience. Entered the consulate around 7:15 am for 7:30 am appointment. Documents were reviewed by an Indian officer within 15 minutes of entry. Gave him IRS approval for extension for filing (email from taxact) and W2 for 2016. He kept the W2 form but returned the filing extension approval email.
Waited for 2 hours before my token number was called for interview by an American officer who posed the following questions:
1)Who is calling you?
2) Name of your husband?
3) What does your husband do for living?
4) Name of the company where your husband works?
5) Love marriage or arranged marriage?
6) Who arranged the marriage?
7) When did your husband visit you last?
8) Where did you travel together last? Was it your honeymoon trip?
9) Are you excited to be traveling to USA?
The officer kept typing into his computer during the above question answers. Then he said "Your visa is approved" and ha... read complete review
