I had my interview on 21st October. I was travelling so the delay.
I found K1 process very smooth. Most of the credit goes to VIsaJourney site. You get all the information here. But how much to take & how much to adapt is depends on every individual. And I think I managed well with taking only required information for my process. Also on the Mumbai Consulate all the information is provided, but it is very confusing. Only thing is you have to be smart enough to take it as per your requirement.
I had carried all the required documentation very carefully for my interview. The interview was very short n sweet. Initially one Indian lady collected all my documents & after two hours I was called for interview by an American lady. Some 8-9 question all together & that's it... Approved!!!!

My husband had his in-person interview at the Mumbai Embassy on March 22,2013. After the interview was completed he wa told that he case has been put under Administrative Processing. Since then we have not received any update from the Embassy nor any government office. I have tried to contact the local government officials here in the US, but they are no hope.
So just a warning to those interviewing at the Mumbai Embassy: they are very strict and I have heard that they tend to put 40% of the cases under Administrative Processing.

We were so blessed that our interview went as well as it did. Just a quick background about my fiance and I - I (Trina) am the US citizen and American by birth, he (Bhupi) is Indian. We met while traveling
abroad in Africa.
Bhupi's interview was scheduled for 8:20am so, we arrived at the consulate at 7:00am (I flew back to India to attend the interview with him). We had to wait outside for about 30-40 min and then we were all lined up and asked to present interview letters and travel docs profile. We had extensive evidence so, we brought a backpack to carry it in - backpacks are not allowed, purses or shopping bags are okay though. We were unsure as to how far they were going to let me (Trina) go through the process with him but, they allowed me to stay the entire time! We even did Bhupi's interview together - we highly recommend that both the petitioner and beneficiary attend the interview (if you are able to). Having both parties there is the best
